Awesome barbecue ribs and chicken. The food is really good! If you love barbecue then you will be in heaven.

On Tuesdays and Fridays Swinging Doors offers ribs or chicken as a meal - as some restaurants on the island are closed on Tuesdays, this is a great casual option! Make sure to make reservations (pop in day before or morning of)... the ribs are killer!

The steak was great if a little basic with the sides being a basic salad, baked potato and coleslaw but was great value. The negative for me is that smoking is allowed inside and out but is more a bar than restaurant I guess. Also the girl behind the bar was a little rude when we arrived but did warm up. They only take cash but allowed us to come back the next day to pay.

Our dive company organized our reservation at Swinging Doors as we were on a night dive (and on Saba, restaurants usually only cook for the reservations made to avoid food wastage); we were organized enough we got back half an hour before they had expected us, so there was a bit of a delay in getting fed. We were still seated swiftly, received our drinks promptly, and then it was merely a matter of waiting until the grill was free: Sunday is steak night at Swinging Doors, and it's a given that everyone inside is after steaks! The only question posed to us was "How would you like your steak cooked?" - and from our table of 5, all the steaks were cooked perfectly to order, accompanied by carrots, green salad, and a baked potato. The steaks were excellently done, seasoned just right and not requiring any further decoration. The only quibble is that the meals were served on plastic plates.

We have had barbeque all over the US and several other places, but the Barbeque at the Swinging Doors was one of the best. Could it be that we tantalized all day while we walked about the Windwardside with the aroma of the barbeque on the smoker? Or was it the family/folksy feel of the picnic tabled patio?
All I know is we enjoyed this place and meal more than many others.
