The hotel is up a very steep hill. Ok if you have a car or taxi to bring you and luggage up. The room itself is ok but the beds madrass was poor and had deep dumps after other people lying there for years. The maintainance of the hotel is poor. The breakfast is a huge disapointment. You must boile your own eggs. There is no realy bread. Allmost everything you wants from a breakfast at a hotel was missing. Coffee from an old coffee machine. No milk or orange juice. The batroom in the room was also a disapointment. Glass wall shower with doors that didnt work.

Room tip: If your ok to walk stairs ask for third floor. Best view for sure.

As an American I didn't know quite what to expect of the French Antilles. I can only say that my stay in Camelia-Karibea in Trois Islets was the perfect low-stress environment for me to enjoy the beaches, get to know the locals, as well as serving as the perfect jumping off point for excursions around the island. I found the staff helpful, warm, and friendly. The room was comfortable and cool. There was a kitchenette on the porch, and a shower with plenty of hot water. The hotel was centrally located and a 5 minute walk from the beach. My trip to Martinique taught me a valuable lesson: I learned that travelers have to learn to let go of their expectations and accept the local hospitality on its own level. And once you learn to accept that things will be different, and learn to appreciate the local hospitality for its own beauty and warmth, things become much easier. Americans especially should forget about their American luxuries and APPRECIATE what a small island has to offer. People are friendly. Everyone says "Bonjour". People offer help. They appreciate a "Merci". If you open your eyes you will see amazing sights on this wonderful island. I have memories that will last a lifetime.

Room tip: The top floor (3rd) will probably offer the best views.

This was a good, comfortable hotel with an outdoor (on balcony( kitchen). The view was outstanding and the sight of beautiful boats bobbing in the gorgeous Caribbean sea in the distance. We had two adjoining rooms which were fine and quite modern...nothing spectacular but ideal for our family. The hotel is in Trois Ilets and is a few minutes walk from two beautiful beaches...drop dead gorgeous. It is very much the view and location that made this hotel special.there was also a nice swimming pool which was virtually empty. The receptionist (Gary)was excellent and very helpful.

Room tip: Best views were sea facing.

Well, we arrived at about 17.45, after a nine hour flight and a frustrating delay at Lamentin Airport trying to find out how to get to our hire car, to find reception in the dark and abandoned! Only a small handwritten note advising our patience until someone arrived to help us. We waited and we walked around and we waited again.......for about half an hour until we encountered a member of staff in the grounds as we were wandering. No apologiy or explanation for the delay in meeting us. Then we paid up and there followed exasperated sighs from the man (now behind the desk) as he said our room had not been made up and he was struggling to place us elsewhere.

Our (reallocated) room was on the third floor and accessed only by stairs. We huffed and puffed and dragged the luggage ourselves, happy to have a bed for the night!

The bathroom was grubby - glass shower doors rendered opaque by limescale etc. I bought some bathroom cleaner and a nylon scrubbing pad the next day and felt a little safer once I had given it a good clean.

Further disappointment when we ran out of loo paper a few days later and had to ask for more at reception. We eventually had one roll delivered to the room a few hours later. After four days of no room cleaning and with overflowing bins and damp stinking towels, we had to ask for someone to come and clean the room. This was duly carried out with a change of linen too but the maid left the balcony door wide open to the world when she left, with the air-con going full pelt and had clearly helped herself to a bottle of rum which we had left out!

We were disappointed by the lack of any social seating area or bar facilities - the room also lacked comfort and the balcony and kitchenette area was uncomfortably and unworkably small. The fridge did not work very well and our ice cream melted! Certainly no holiday atmosphere here. Plus, the TV was exclusively in French - nothing international at all. The free wi-fi was a little hit and miss too, frequently dropping out.

On the plus side, the views towards Fort de France from our tiny balcony were stunning, absolutely stunning!

Value for money? Possibly not as we were unable to cook a decent meal in the "kitchen area" and needed to go out for proper food.
