The hosts were extremely gracious and helpful, they even offered us a ride into town our first night since we didn't have a car. Vieques is such a wonderful place! Even though it rained through most of our stay I still fell in love! The Villa Coral is in a great location within walking distance to Esperanza. The rooms were so clean and the whole place is wonderfully taken care of.

Word of advice: request a room in the back if possible. We stayed in room one, which was close to the entry and a few times were awakened by people coming and going. Still well worth it though.

While the room was small, it was nicely furnished and decorated, and clearly had been remodeled recently, including the bathroom (nice shower!). There was a small refrigerator in the room, which was handy. The hosts provide lots of little features, which are helpful to have (like beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler, a small bag for either grocery shopping or taking things to the beach). The rooftop patio with chairs was great for looking at the stars at night. The covered porch was nice for eating breakfast or relaxing in the afternoon. The owners were very helpful in answering questions, giving directions or advice, and proving a map of the island. We found Villa Coral a great value for the price.

We did not mind the lack of a phone (our cell phones worked fine) or a TV (we don’t go on vacation to watch TV). As some other reviewers have noted, the dogs barking and the roosters crowing occasionally were annoying, but we found closing the window and using the fan blocked out the noise well enough. The guesthouse is located in a residential neighborhood, and the numbering system (and sometimes lack of numbers) on the houses caused us to have a little trouble finding the place. Vieques is a small island, but we still managed to take a wrong turn coming from the car rental place because the street signs are not always clear. It would have helped if I had printed out a picture of the place to take with us. Villa Coral is one of the nicest looking houses on the street, and close to where Calle Gladiola dead ends into another street.

We absolutly loved both Villa Coral and Vieques, in fact we cant wait to return to both. It was so safe and clean, so well appointed and the proprietors we such wonderful ladies, they went above and beyond and for someone who tries to remain as "green" as possible, was so excited to see the same in them. Esperanza is THE ONLY place you should stay on the island, not because it isnt safe anywhere else, it truly is the best island Ive ever been too, its just this little town has so much character and wonderful places to go all within a short walk of Villa Coral. The nightlife was not a club scene, if fact , if that is what you are looking for, then stay in San Juan, but if you want authentic people that love music and their beaches and enjoy meeting new people, then this is the place.
My only suggestion would be a rug or too in the room, you spend so much time at the beach, you get a lot of sand in the sheets :) Wonderful place!
AND free wifi in every room, the Hilton couldnt even offer us that!

This guesthouse has been one of the highlights in our trip to Puerto Rico. The rooms were beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and quiet. Mireya and Annette, the hostesses, are so nice that we felt like home. They've been really helpfull in organizing things to do and helping us out throughout our stay (thanks again!!). The location is great, at the top of a hill overlooking Mosquito bay and surroundings, but still at walking distance from Esperanza seafront and restaurant area. Highly recommended!!

This was our third stay at Villa Coral, and I will choose this place again for our future stays. Hosts are attentive and gracious: they are willing to help with any reservations for activities, and answer any questions you may have. Rooms are clean and comfortable. There is so much love that went into creation of this inn; it shows in all the details – the wonderful shady veranda, amazing rooftop deck for views or stargazing, custom made soap, all the paraphernalia one may need to take to the beach is provided. The place is simply gorgeous! Location in the residential area makes you feel like one of the inhabitants of the village as suppose to a tourist. Simple living at it’s best. Great place to have peace and quiet, or to be social and meet other guests.
