My girlfriend and I stayed here for four days in February. The room was clean and spacious but the bathroom was a bit dated. We had a patio that overlooked the beach, however the beach is not really suitable for sunbathing or swimming ( there are plenty of other beaches to go to in Vieques ). The hotel also has two very nice pools and beach equipment such as chairs, coolers and snorkel gear that you can borrow for no fee. The staff is very attentive and while the location may seem a bit shady , we felt perfectly safe staying here. You definitely will need a car on the island to get around and the hotel has plenty of parking. Not to far from the ferry and some pretty good restaurants.

Pros:

- Amazing setting on the Atlantic Ocean
- Pool with view of sunset and Ocean mere feet away
- Ocean view Balcony (get Upper Ocean View)
- Location in the one authentic town on island
- Honor Bar means alcohol available 24/7
- Cache of things to use on the beach like chairs, snorkel equipment, coolers

Cons:

- Buildings/Bathrooms/Furniture are a bit tired. It's on the beach so it's hard to combat the ocean, but it gives everything a grungy feel
- Water pressure/temperature was acceptable at best, but this was pretty standard in PR
- Very minimal furnishings. A more substantial bed, nightstands on both sides of the bed and some sort of table/desk with a better chair would have been useful.
- front desk closes at 6, would be useful to have a person there as a resource until 8 or 9

This is a unique place, but with the tourist-directed development of late on the island, there are probably higher quality accommodations for the same price elsewhere. Consider the beachview and launching pad for a real Puerto Rican town experience what you're paying for here.

Room Tip: Upper Ocean View a must

Hi SigmundBloom,

Thank you for taking the time to write this review and to let us know some of your thoughts on the property, both positive and negative.

The hotel is situated about 10 feet off the Atlantic Ocean, and as a result, we are constantly working to combat the damages caused by sea spray. Our maintenance staff works diligently every day to ensure the property is clean and well maintained. For example, since your stay, balusters along the upper ocean view room balconies have been replaced.

We have many different room styles, and the Upper Ocean View rooms (where you stayed) are styled with minimalism in mind. While we do understand this is not for everyone, we have received many compliments regarding the furnishing from guests in person as well as in other reviews. Photos of the rooms can be found on our website.

The office hours are 8 am - 6 pm, although many days it is open later to check-in guests arriving after 6 pm. We have our cell phone numbers posted on the office door for after-hours needs or emergencies.

Again, thank you for taking the time to write this review. We spent some time talking before you checked out, and I remember speaking with about the sea spray. I am disappointed that we didn't discuss your other concerns about the property at that time, as I would have enjoyed telling you about our future repair and improvement plans.

Thank you,

Carl Halberg
Owner

My husband & I stayed for four nights split between two different rooms to experience the different views. Beautiful view from both rooms! Loved the rooms so spacious and updated! You can tell the new owners have put a lot of love and care into updating and maintaining the property. We had a hard time deciding which pool we liked better; both have their own charm! The staff was extremely helpful with recommendations for restaurants and arranging taxi service. If you like to walk, the hotel is close to plenty of restaurants and to the ferry. We loved the beach equipment provided for our use. We would love to make a habit of staying at the Bravo Beach Hotel!

Room Tip: The ocean side rooms both upper and lower have awesome views!

I stayed here for 2 days. The hotel is situated in a small residential neighborhood of isabel segunda close to the ferry dock. It is very quiet around the hotel although we were not around during the day time. The hotel owners are a young couple. They were very friendly and so was the staff. There are two pools one facing the sea which is a great place to chill with a drink as you watch the sun set. Another pool is slightly bigger and you can use it 24x7 but it's not facing the sea. The is an honor bar next to the pool with a fridge so you can grab drinks if you would like to just unwind there late at night. The rooms are avg sized but cozy and have all that you need including a fridge, TV and music deck. Some of them are facing the sea with amazing views. The owners also have coolers, chairs, beach umbrellas, snorkelling gear etc to take to the beach free of charge (except for the umbrella which is 5$ a day). The only drawback is that it is not close to the major beaches and esperanza and you would need a car (highly recommended) or taxi to get around. All in all I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night this weekend and I'm so grateful the owners were willing to let us stay less than the minimum because this hotel was AMAZING!! The owners and staff we super nice and helpful, I never felt like they were too busy to talk to us. The hotel is clearly an older building that the owners must have bought and restored and they could not have done a better job. Our rooms felt really modern and being able to see the ocean while being in the pool was an amazing experience! This hotel is close enough to Isabel so you can walk and grab some food and even a taxi ride to Esperanza on the other side of the island was only around $15. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I hope I'll get to come back someday!
