My friends and I went to Puerto Rico and our biggest regret is not spending enough time on Vieques Island. The one night we stayed there we stayed at the Hammock House Hostel. The owners (Tofer and Jake) are great, charismatic guys who were super helpful and fun to be around. When we got there, they sat us all down and gave us a map of the island. They pointed out all the best places to go, they called and scheduled a biobay tour for us, they let us rent a car from a neighbor for cheap, and they filled us in on cultural practices and rules we needed to be aware of. The room was great, beds were comfy, building was beautiful and colorful. After our biobay tour at night we were all really hungry and Tofer shared some of his food with us: we all made PB&J sandwiches and spaghetti together! Hanging out in the common area was really fun, we got to meet new friends and hear about their adventures.
Overall, literally nothing negative to say about these guys or this hostel. Definitely the place to stay on Vieques.
