“A nice time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2012

We visited this fort on our last morning in Vieques. It was nowhere as neat as the forts in San Juan but we had a good time. It used to be a jail and it was fun to walk around the inside and explore. It was also fun to walk around the outside and to see the views. My five-year-old son especially liked the old canons. There is also a nice little gift shop inside. You would be hard pressed to spend more than an hour here, though they do have a nice exhibit currently. It is free though they do request donations.

“Free and informative”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2012

We were within walking distance to the Fort from our rental. The parking area is spacious with lowhanging mango trees. The grounds kept in great condition, pretty garden beds and great views of Isabel Segunda below. The curator provided a brief history of the fort along with how the fort is being used today (art gallery, gift store and conference area) The art gallery also held museum pieces. The restrooms were very clean and the gift store was a nice touch. We spent about 20-30 minutes here.
