“Quiet and Clean”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

Vieques island was a day port we visited on a cruise. We borrowed a set of bikes and it was about a 10 minute ride to the beach. There is a fee charged for entrance, but not if you arrive before 10am or after 3pm, apparently. Sun Bay was one of the largest, cleanest, most beautiful beaches I've even had the pleasure of being able to spend some time on. Spots for playing in tidal pools, and secluded sections of beach for sunbathing or swimming. And lots of feral horses that the island is known for. There are no washroom facilities, at least none that we saw, but there are some picnic tables available. I understand it is a popular camping spot during Easter weekend.

“Beautiful beach”

Great beach but not quite as nice as and a bit more crowded than Blue Beach. Get to the Sol food truck early as they run out of food.

“Great beach!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2013

Loved the palm trees they planted all along the Sun Bay Beach so everyone could have some shade if wanted. Nice eats at the snack shack...including Pina Coladas and Margueritas that rival any of the bars on The Malecon!

“Easy to get to”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2013

Great when one only has "an hour or so" of beach time. Weekends can be a bit noisy and crowded...well to Vieques standards anyway. Parking is right "there" Can see my car from my chair ( great for people with accessibility needs) so I feel safe leaving some items in my car...key word "some"

“Biggest beach with facilities”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

Another gorgeous beach on Vieques, with facilities and lots of room. Even on a "crowded" day, there is room for everyone. Probably the most popular, accessible beach for all.
