“Nearby Beach still feels miles away”
Reviewed December 28, 2011

We stayed off the strip in Esperanza and walked to Sun Bay. We had a great day swimming and resting under coconut trees. It is a beautiful mile long beach with gentle ways.

“Watch that first step!”
Reviewed December 18, 2011

We love Sombe/SunBay Beach, but there's a dip between the sand and the water that will surprise you if you're not prepared. Supposedly, there's a charge for this beach (approx. $2.00), Th -Sun, but we've yet to encounter anyone at the gate. It's the only beach with restrooms we've found on Vieques. (Bring your own TP.) It's quite lovely and especially clean, with cabanas for shade or rain protection. It's the first "real" beach closest to Esperanza. We just prefer Playa Caracas.

“Another Beautiful Beach”
Reviewed November 27, 2011

Amazing views from every direction. The only negative is it is one of the most highly visited and has a lot of trash in the parking lot as a result. It's too bad that people don't share my desire to keep the beautiful places in the world beautiful.
