All the beaches on Vieques are amazing, but this was my absolute favorite, and all of my friends agreed. It was quite the bumpy ride to get to, but once you're there, man, it's impressive. It's a small (maybe a mile from one side to the other) cove with calm turquoise water and beautiful white sand. We were lucky enough to set up our blankets and cooler in a little cut out in the trees, and had a beautiful palm tree giving us shade. The view from this beach is priceless.
I read multiple reviews about how the walk to the beach is long and rocky. Let me fill you in: from the parking lot it's MAYBE 40 feet to the beach, and by rocky they must have meant stones. It's covered in stones no bigger than 3" each... We walked it very easily in flip flops while carrying coolers and beach chairs, no problem.
Alas, the beach is not a secret, but it was the emptiest of all the beaches we went to. We had maybe 10 other people on the beach at any given time, and not a soul was near us.
We are already planning our trip
back next year!
