“AMAZING”

We found so many secret beaches. Some were harder to get to than others and some were more pleasant than others. There will always be one or two (or three or four) that everyone will find and love.

“Great snorkeling, beautiful small beach.”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

We went on paddleboards with Bieque Tours, so I don't know what the walk down is like. It was beautiful, private, and good snorkeling. Loved it!

“Not a secret but oh well”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

Great place for a dip in the water and great shade for those sunny hot days. Since the Island is no longer a secret you really need 4x4 to get to the beach.

“Remote and Beautiful!”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

This was my favorite beach in Vieques. I was skeptical at first as we drove down the bumpy dirt roads and down a steep hill to get to the beach path (you definitely want a jeep or 4 wheel drive) but it was definitely worth it.

The beach was picture perfect and secluded- we were the only ones on the beach for a while but at the most there were maybe 8 other people there at any one given time. Plenty of room for all of us. The water is crystal clear, the sand is what you'd expect to find on a beach- fine, warm and wonderful. (some of the sand on the other beaches was a lot more gravely-gritty or non-existent) The beach is tucked between two rock outcroppings so it definitely gives a feeling of seclusion- very peaceful.

Did some snorkeling and it turned out to be the best snorkeling experience of the trip- the rocks out to the left side had quite a bit of pretty fish, coral and other things to look at. It was an easy swim and the water never seemed to get super deep in the spots where we were swimming.
This beach was memorable and wonderful. Worth the extra work it took to find it!

“If you're in your 20's with a jeep wrangler, a perfect place to live out your beach fantasy”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

This is off the road that leads to Blue or La Chiva beach. It's also known as Pata Prieta Beach. It's a drive through about 1 mile of dirt roads with large pot holes. You get to a place where you can park, but there is a parking lot below that....if you have a jeep. The road up and down will require all wheel drive. From the parking area, there's a steep walk down a rocky path to one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches you'll find in your life. We chose to walk down and just see it. It's like a more secluded but just as beautiful version of Blue Beach. Wear your tevas or hiking shoes...and enjoy. There was one other person there when we went this past week. It's the beach you've been dreaming of....
