“My favorite beach of the trip, despite overhyped cave”
Review of Navio Beach

Owner description: The rough surf of Navio Beach attracts surfers and a younger, more hip crowd.

Overall: This is a beautiful beach that we basically had to ourselves. Worth making it a destination.

Access: This is one of those Vieques beaches that is fairly remote, accessible only by a poorly-maintained gravel/sand road through the woods. We did it in a minivan so you certainly don't always need a Jeep to get there, but I would be a little wary in a small sedan.

Cave: A little overblown; it's something you can walk in and take pictures of, but it's just a single cut-out in the rock on the left side of the beach. There are rock formations on both sides, and even a *small* reef on the right side (if facing the ocean) but don't get too excited about a seaside cave complex.

Beach: Beautiful white sand beach, crystal clear water with a sandy bottom in the bay. The waves were not intimidating but on the right hand side they were big enough and broke right to body surf in, which is what made this my favorite beach of the island.

Other beaches were pretty and secluded, but this one had a couple of "activities" that the others don't offer. So all in all it's worth the drive past Sun Bay to get this one.

Getting here is fun, and if driving in on the road you will need a jeep for sure. This beach ,as are many beaches in vieques, is beautiful. There is a cave that you can sometimes see wildlife. The surf is strong at Navio beach.

This is a neat beach, it's a little remote, you probably want to have a 4x4 to get here but, it's worth it. There's a cool little cave on the East end of the beach and some underwater caves around the point further to the East (a cool snorkeling /shore dive spot) Like all remote beaches: watch your gear, I had some flip-flops stolen here that I left under the back of our Jeep. Zappos takes at least 7 days to get you new shoes on Vieques FYI.

Definitely one of my favorite two beaches on the island. Water is crystal clear and aqua blue. Unlike othe beaches Navio has waves (small waves). A few places for shade, but better to bring an umbrella. It is a small beach blocked in by rocks at cliffs at either end. This is quiet and secluded. Get to it by driving into Sunbay Beach entrance.

This is an incredible beach and if you can get there (jeep, scooter, UTV) it is well worth it. We got robbed though - only $50 but still sucked. Don't bring a lot of stuff and keep it close to you!!
