“Crowded!”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

After having walked 1.5 hours down to the base of the falls, we were AMAZED that it was so crowded on a Monday at noon. There must have been about 150 people there! If you decide to go into the pool, be sure to where swim shoes, there are rocks everywhere!

“Great visit”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

Amazing view of the rain forest. Easy way down , not as much back up but well worth it . Trees and plants are so Jurassic park like, it felt cool under the canopy. Trail is easy to follow. Not as big fall as you would think but still pretty cool to say one day, invasion been in a rising forest. The light rain at then end was so perfect.

“Nice family hike. Be prepared for rain.”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Hiking path is cement and paved, so sturdy sandals are appropriate footwear. It is a steep walk at places and there are some steps. You couldn't take a stroller here. Be prepared for rain. We had a beautiful sunny walk to the falls, but then torrential downpour during our entire walk back. Throughout the week, we often saw dark clouds over El Yunque. It's easy to think you won't need rain gear on a sunny day, but remember it is a rain forest. Seeing the flash flooding and all that water pouring down the mountain actually proved to be a highlight of our experience. Swimming at the falls is easily accessible. There are lots of dry rocks to leave your gear. Water is cold and loud. It's amazing to be reminded of how loud a waterfall can be. Lots of people here. Get here early. We arrived at the falls by 10:00 and there were at least 100 people there. And there was a constant stream of people arriving at the falls. If you want to be "alone" in your pictures, get there much earlier.

“Swim Break!”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

The falls are a great way to get in a good hike and be rewarded with a dip into the cool falls. We staid for over an hour relaxing in the water and taking in the scenery. It can get busy so go early. The hike is roughly 25 minutes from the entry point on the access road where you can park your car. There are no facilities at the falls so bring an extra pair of shorts and change in your car, otherwise you'll be hiking around in wet clothing the rest of the day.

“Nice hike, don't expect big place to swim”
Reviewed March 26, 2013

The hike to get to the falls was nice - great scenery. The falls themselves are also very pretty, but don't expect a big pool to splash/swim around in. It wasn't that crowded when we were there, which was nice, but we didn't spend more than 10-15 minutes there before hiking back out.
