“Decent Waterfall, but WAY TOO CROWDED!”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

This is a pretty decent-sized waterfall; the outflow of water is rather impressive. However, you may not be able to truly enjoy your time at the falls, because there can be huge numbers of people there. While many wanted to go swimming at the base of the falls, the pool there was too small to accommodate all of the people that were climbing over one another to swim in this little pool.

Also keep in mind that there are not many places to sit, rest, photograph, or simply appreciate the grandeur of the waterfall.

“Pretty water falls, right off the road.”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Get in the El Yunke early. This tends to get crowded and challenging to find a parking place. We skipped it on day one, too many cars. We did get some cool pics on day two of the falls.

“Tour by elegant steering”
Reviewed January 10, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I LOVED our tour to la Mina falls. The hike was a little challenging but rewarded greatly by the beautiful falls. Our tour guide was Francisco with elegant steering. He was AMAZING. He even took the brave hikers under the bridge, scaling some slippery rocks, to a second waterfall. He was well educated about the rainforest and was an absolute delight.

You must go to the yunque rainforest!

“Sweet Waterfall”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

We visited El Yunque specifically to come to this waterfall. Once you park at the site, which is just past KM 9 on PR-191, it's about a 25-35 minute walk down the very busy trail. The water was a bit chilly but very refreshing. Be prepared though, this is a very popular location in El Yunque so it will be busy. Overall, probably the coolest place we went to on the Island of Puerto Rico.
