“A must see”

We took this tour that we booked at our hotel and had a wonderful guide who shared lots of info about the rain forest as well as the island. It was a very enlightening and enjoyable day trip. I enjoy a good hike and we got one...ended-up at a beautiful water-fall. A bit too crowded for me so I didn't swim but enjoyed the view. Would highly recommend to families and other vacationers.

“Great Time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

We had a great time here. We ate at a little diner (another review) before getting here, but there are places along the road as you drive up. Don't waste money on a tour. We drove up and enjoyed the sights on our own. We did stop to view the La Coca falls just to take pictures, but our main focus was to head to km 12.2 to hike the La Mina trail.

“Very nice experience.”

It was fairly easy to schedule a tour. El Yunque is 45 minutes from San Juan.
You start the tour with a movie narrated by Benicio Del Toro.
El Yunque provides wonderful tropical forest views, waterfalls and safe hiking.
It is a very relaxing experience. I would strongly recommend a visit if you are going
to Puerto Rico.

This is a great park with lots of hiking and beautiful views and sights. Prepare to get wet - it is a rain forest, after all!

“Great DIY national park experience!”

Don't waste your money with the tour bus! We rented a car for the week from the Airport for $150 at a brand name rental car company that was inside the airport. Drove all over the island, including the El Yunque Rain Forest. from the north side of the island, follow route 3 to route 191. that will take you past some great local places to eat and drink, then up into the rainforest. stop at the welcome center and pay the visitor fee ($4 each) to get maps, bathrooms, and information. rain parkas are $7.50 each and worth it if its cloudy, it IS a rainforest afterall... all of the trails and sights are self guided. we had a great time, took our own pace, and had a great hike to the waterfalls. bring bathing suits, towels, bottled water, snacks and hiking shoes.
