Perhaps the highlight of our entire trip to Puerto Rico.
We could only stay at Yunquiyu for two nights, but we will never forget our time. In fact, we opted to stay at the farm as much as possible rather than drive out to the nearby beaches as it was so overwhelmingly beautiful on the property and in our treehouse.
Martin was a wonderful host who considered everything we might need. The fresh fruit, granola, coconut milk, figs, cashews, and coffee made for an easy/delicious breakfast each morning on the deck of La Cascada, looking down on the river. Making dinner with the doors and windows open (listening to the sounds of the jungle), hiking and taking a dip in the river below, and the sound of rain around us in the night all made for an experience like no other.
This stay was our treat to ourselves--about $50 more per night than we would normally spend--and it was worth every penny. I desperately hope we come back in the near future. The land is healing quickly from the hurricane, there is life everywhere!
We can't say enough good things about Yunquiyu, Martin, and all the wonderful people working on the farm. We are so grateful for our time.More
