The Castillo Serralles offers a glimpse of how the first family of Ponce (owners of Don Q rum) lived from the 1930s to the early '80s. Set on the side of a hill overlooking the city, with formal gardens, the castillo was built with no expense spared. The Spanish revival design, with an open courtyard in the middle is extremely pleasing. There is also a wealth of period furniture on display, both locally made and imported from France. I would liked to have spent longer in each room seeing it in more detail but the drawback to a guided tour is that you can't linger.
