“The house that rum built”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

The Castillo Serralles offers a glimpse of how the first family of Ponce (owners of Don Q rum) lived from the 1930s to the early '80s. Set on the side of a hill overlooking the city, with formal gardens, the castillo was built with no expense spared. The Spanish revival design, with an open courtyard in the middle is extremely pleasing. There is also a wealth of period furniture on display, both locally made and imported from France. I would liked to have spent longer in each room seeing it in more detail but the drawback to a guided tour is that you can't linger.

“Great Mansion”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

Perfectly crafted and the best view of the city, this mansion is the jewel of Ponce in term of architectural and historical information. The gardens are perfectly kept.

“Ive and Aldo's Wedding”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

Castillo Serralles is beautiful in pictures, but it absolutely takes your breath away as you approach it.

My sincere thanks go to Isis, Wilfredo and everyone at the Serralles Castle that helped make my daughter's wedding a truly amazing event!! Your professionalism and ability to facilitate all transactions to ensure things were 'just right' were most appreciated and thanks to you - everything went well and without any problems whatsoever.

I am truly happy with our celebration and am sure family, friends and all who shared this special celebration with us will not forget this beautiful night.

THANK YOU!!!

“Amazing gardens, beautiful home”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

The grounds of the museum/home are amazing. A wedding was being set up in the back gardens while we were waiting for our tour and you could definitely see why this locations would be preferred for a wedding. The views from the balconies are all the way out to the ocean. The tour is $8 for adults and $4 for seniors. There is a butterfly garden tour included and tour of the home. Part of the reason I wanted to visit here is because they have a partnership with local artists to put on a gallery display which was wonderful. The only thing is that the whole tour is in Spanish and the guide barely spoke any English to those who needed it and expected me to rely on my grandfather to translate everything for me.

“Lovely Experience. A Must See”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

This is a Old Mansion that used to belong to one of the most prestigious families from Puerto Rico. The Serralles Family. They are know worldwide for their rum making. You will learn the story of the serralles family and how they shaped the economy of the island. When you go to the how is like taking a trip to the past. Everything is so well preserved that it feels like if you stepped back in time. At the same time you will learn about the culture of Puerto Rico at the time. Considering this was the home of one of the richest families in Puerto Rico. They own the Serralles distillery that produces Don Q rum and other brands Like Captain Morgan (last year production was moved outside the island). Many Films were filmed here but one of the latest was DIsney's Princes Protection Program . It is a great family experience. Do not bring strollers as is quite difficult to take the tour with it. There is a fee to go in but you can also go to the butterfly garden inside the premises and the Japanese Garden. If you are a student bring your ID for special pricing.
