I am a big fan of art and I try to go when I am in the area, I still remember my mother taking me here as a child and for the first time I took my little 8 year old girl and she was amazed with it. Hope to visit once again soon.

“A gem in Ponce”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2014 via mobile

It can't compete with the MET or Louvre or any of the other major museums, but it is a very nice museum with an interesting collection of Puerto Rican, Spanish, Italian, British and Dutch art. We went for the Vienna exhibit which was amazing but unfortunately closing.

“Lovely, well set out museum”

Home of Flaming June by Sir Frederic Leighton, this museum is a delightful place to visit for a few hours. Although a relatively modern building, the art deco style stairs are a super feature with galleries to either side.
Aside from Leighton’s classic work, other highlights included the huge Edward Burne-Jones painting, The Last Sleep of Arthur in Avalon, and the wonderful collection from Puerto Rican artists. As a photographer I especially like the photographic exhibition too, including works by the great Jack Delano.
There is a small cafeteria at the front of the museum and a larger restaurant with garden at the rear, adjacent to the small gift shop.

Great museum. Is a must if you visit Ponce. Small but great! short walk from the city plaza. A lot of activities for kids during the day.

“Biggest museum in the Carribean”

This museum was a nice place to visit in Ponce. The museum is beautiful and has a beautiful staircase. It has European works, Victorian paintings and Puerto Rican folk art. Nice indoor activity to do.
