The pros: The hotel is very good situated the rooms are clean. The pool is awesome. The food is good and the prices are ok. The parking is big and very close to the hotel. The staff is very friendly and everything is close the pool, casino, bar etc.
Cons: most of the fixtures are old. The Cable TV signal is not digital. The water in the shower change automatically from cold to hot. The housekeeping or room service arrived at 4:30 pm. Make sure you dont break or loose someting the prices are ridiculous Example shower curtain $75 and if you return the pool towels after 6:00 pm is going to cost you $25 each towel.

Comfy beds, well appointed rooms, if you want poolside ask for an odd-numbered room. Low ceilings make for a claustrophobic feeling in the hallways, patterned carpeting looks dated, as does much of the decor on the main floor. Trays and dinnerware left on the hallway in the evening were still beside our door next day at noon, not picked up promptly. Lazy river pool always very good and a hit with families, although renting tubes is ridiculous-- are they being smuggled away? Regular pool was remade to eliminate the 12-ft deep area, bad for divers but good for everyone else. Front desk staff mostly good.

My big gripe is regarding the location of the sole ATM, after the one on the lobby area was eliminated. The ATM is inside the betting area at the casino. Which is very inconvenient if I am with small children, if my beliefs are against participating in casinos. I was given unconvincing reasons for the elimination of the other ATM. The alternative is hopping on the car and driving along Route 2 to find an ATM, not great after dark, and good luck finding a parking spot when you come back. And hope it doesn't rain, which is often in the afternoons in Mayagüez. Sorry, MR&C, but if you are about convenience and hospitality, please have this corrected, on behalf of your esteemed non-casino-sponsoring guests.

Room Tip: Odd-numbered rooms face the pool.

The hotel is old but is still good in the area of Mayaguez. They have the best pool in the area the River pool village for the kids is just great it has water falls, another like a fast river they rent for $5.00 a tube togo about it and different pools with their own attraction. Every place I visit was clean, the service is very good and the employees are willing to help all the time. The rooms are just a good size. Just a little expensive.

Room Tip: All rooms are basically the same but the at first floor they have a small terrace.

I was expecting a nicer hotel. Rooms are rundown. Musty odor. Air conditioning didnt work properly. Way too pricey for the conditions. Needs a complete makeover! I dont understand why they called it a resort. at the pool, you have to pay $5 for the tube. I would not recommend or stay here again. Its a shame that they market themselves as a resort.

Pretty worried about last reviews, i approach the hotel with doubt staying there, only ti be pleasently suprised! Check in at frontdesk was full of people as it was a holday weekend. After that enjoyed a clean, modern and friendly place. Room was on the small side for a familly of 4 but just enough. We had breakfast at castillo and ate the same breakfast at as most hotels for same price. Hotel was very well situaded for the stuff we wanted to do. So only thumbs up from me!! Will stay again in near future.
