“Great spot for plant geeks!”
Reviewed July 27, 2012

Visited to see the various unusual plants. It takes about an hour to walk the entire property. If you are at all curious as to how vanilla, cinimon or ginger grow, this will answer some of these questions in a very pleasant setting. Definately a must see for anyone interested in plants, spices or gardens.

For those who love to be and know about nature, this is an awsome paradise. You can see variety of trees of all around the world. Trails full of plants and trees of huge altitude and age and rare apperance and exotic caracteristics. A map shows you where to find a particular type of tree. Awsome site. Worth the stop and is COMPLETELY FREE>

“Nice stop along the way”
Reviewed February 16, 2012

No fee required. Check in at the office and they give you a great map to follow to tour the grounds. The lady stressed that it was not a botanical garden but it felt like one. Very cool plants and trees. Worth the stop.

“Discovered while visiting UPR What a Great Place”
Reviewed November 22, 2011

The research station is a treasure and I had no idea it existed. After stopping by the university for a meeting I went to the zoo and literally stumbled on it! I learned a lot about what has been done in the area and what is planned for the future.
