“Good Caribbean food in the middle of Old San Juan”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2013 via mobile

This was a bit pricey for what you get but again, you are in the middle of Old San Juan. We ordered the ceviche which was tasty, not your typical Mexican or Peruvian but a Puerto Rican version made with a splash of vinegar, it was served with tostones. The cheese balls were very nice and crispy, but didn't feel greasy. Carne frita (fried pork chunks) was dry and the antojitos just average...
We ordered a shrimp and churrasco mofongos to share, both were great, the mofongo had a strong butter-garlic flavor that we loved.
They also make good mojitos.
When in San Juan you should try this place, price is way above what you pay at a local joint in Luquillo o Piñones but still great...

“Meh.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

Staff - nice.
Cheese balls - nice.
Rice and beans - pretty good.

Mojitos - a bit weak.
Red snapper mufungo relleno - snapper itself was fine. Mufungo was incredibly tough and dense. Too much butter and salt.
Churrascarro - ok but too much salt and butter.

Price - WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for what you get.

“Good place for dinner or drinks”

Good friendly staff, tasty food. Like all the restaurants in Old San Juan they have fairly crazy cocktails aimed at the tourists, but ask about good local rum & the waitresses' eyes light up.

“Used to be Good”

but that was LONG ago. It has a "gringo Friendly" menu, but the food is pretty bad. I had a horrible hamburger last time I was there, and an argument with the waiter.
