If you're looking for an authentic place to try Puerto Rican food, La Casita Blanca is the place to go. No fuss - just the real deal. A sopita de pollo (chicken soup) to start the meal, a list of awesome traditional Puerto Rican dishes (mofongo, pastellon, carne frita,...) and a shot of anis liquor to finish with a sweet taste. A spot where locals go that you need to try!

You will immediately find out that the food is not tasty. I had "biste encebollao" and it didn't have any meat taste at all. People from the city could find the food good, but when you come from the center of the island you know that any place around your neighborhood is much better and cheaper than this.

The first time I visited the place I was in love with it, is a little historical place in Santurce city. Instead of giving you bread to kill the hunger while you wait your food, they give you "Bacalaitos"(DELICIOUS). The crab rice it was perfect, it was served in a typical pot and had banana's leave touches with large red peppers! MMMMMMmmmmmm!!!! The service is very home inviting. At the end when they bring you the check they surprise you with a CHICHAITO shot, you have to drink it is a rule!!!!

We just love this place. It's very simple, yet if you're in the mood for puertorrican food like grandma used to make, this place is the place to go. From the plate of "bacalaito" (cod fish fritters), chicken rice soup ("asopao") and garlic bread they place on the table as soon as we sit down, to the simple yet delicious food and "chichaito" at the end of the meal, it's excellent. Prices are very good. Service is good. Not outstanding, but good. Definitely a place I will be returning to.
