“Good Food, Great Price”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

You will see a huge mix of reviews here with both positive and negative vibes. It has delicious traditional Puerto Rican food, it is very close to the hotels, and you can get a lot of food for very little money, especially in PR. My friend and I shared Mofongo and the steak creole style. The sauce on the steak was amazing, the beans are clearly made fresh, and the pork with the mofongo is fantastic. The atmosphere is nothing to right home about and the service is extremely slow, but if you go with friends and relax while you wait, you can try the traditional food at a cool pace and leave very full.

“Authentic Food, Great Price”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

This place is definitely worth the visit! I would say this place had the most authentic Puerto Rican food we had. Skirt steak is really good! As well as the platanos! The prices are good on your wallet too!

“Good food”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

I was very pleased with my meal at Mi Casita. It was so close to my hotel. I ordered chicken criollo but got served fish criollo instead. It was delicious. I will definitely go back there when I revisit Isla Verde.

“Second time visiting - Just as good”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

I switched it up this time and did not get the mufungo, rather got the Paella. Was expecting lots of meat in the dish, but as happy to get tons of seafood. Others in my party got the mofungo and were very happy.

only downside to this place is the table are very small for a party of 4, and they will not let you sit at the bigger tables unless you have 6.

“Home cooking in Puerto Rico - Must visit!”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

If you want real Puerto Rican cooking - stop and go to this small location. This restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge at the Verdanza hotel and my, I'm just glad they did.

This restaurant is inside a small strip mall - yes you have to pay $1 to park if you're driving or walk there; they serve local fare with a few things to accomodate any american palates. Now folks - let me be honest - I'm puerto rican - born and raised. Don't go here for a burger, don't go here for american food - this isn't the place for that - although they will make you a very nice breakfast.

But for lunch and dinner that's traditional puerto rican food with perfect seasoning - game over - head there now! Their rice and beans reminded me of my grandmothers, their mofongo was expertly made and seasoned. Their steak was cooked nicely and not salty, the yuca was nice and vinegary as it should be. Service can be a bit slow depending on how full the location is and your order since everything is made as it's requested - except for the obvious choices.

They strive for presentation and some very good food and if you're unhappy with something - speak up - they will fix it happily. Their cuban sandwich was out of this world as was their chicken soup which felt like a hug. Head there today!
