“One of our favorites”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

This is our second year visiting San Juan.. discovered Via Appia last year and had 2 out of our 3 dinners there. Back again this year.. same excellent service, good food and fun environment; it is justifiably popular. I had the special this time: whole grilled snapper that was perfectly prepared. Going back again for our last meal in SJ this year.

“A little expensive... but good pizza and jazz!”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

Yes, its more expensive than your take-out pizza... but its good and check out their jazz nights! In the Condado tourist district, just down the street from the Marriott and Radisson hotels.

“For a good, low-fuss dinner”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

This is a good Italian spot. The servers seem like they're imported directly from Italy, the food is quality (not gourmet, but good), and it's reasonably priced.

JustinKR,

We would like to thank you for your very positive review of our little family owned Via Appia in Condado. We pride ourselves on offering the best dinning experience to our patrons every day and we try to keep the ambiance as original as possible. We are proud to say that we have employeed some of our servers since we established the restaurant, and have always employed their families as well. Therefore, building a great family of generations working in our little family owned italian restaurant. From our cooks to our servers we have kept the originals while also adding a hint of youth to our staff to keep the original feel. Thank you for making note of that, we always get wonderful comments about our staff and we are happy because to us they are also family. We hope to see you again soon at Via Appia.

“Locals Hangout for Sangria”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

Since they have a wide outdoor seating area, by Ashford Avenue in Condado, locals like the scene since it's a centralized location. Sangria is ok, pizzas are average, they have a wider menu including criollo fixes like tostones and fried chicken chicharrones. Service is relatively fast, a bit overpriced but it's due to it's touristic venue.

“Good food & drinks”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

Order a few different appetizers, pizzas, and drinks. Appetizers and the portions were decent. Only thing was that the pizza could have been better coming from a place like this, though not terrible.Definitely recommend trying the sangria.
