I was with a few friends walking around the area in the night, and we went inside to play in the casino. The casino is very spacious with a lot of light, very beautiful and attentive employees, best of all is the great service one receives there.

Upon arrival, we were greated by the most friendly person ever, Felix! He was so outgoing and so accommodating. Check in was easy. Our room wasn't ready because we arrived early so they let us put our bags in storage and gave us a pager so we could go use the bar and pool until our room was ready (which was about a half hour later). The room was set up like a one bedroom apartment. We stays in the suite tower. It was quite nice. We had a kitchenette with plates, silverware, glasses, cooking utensils and pots to cook with. There is a full refrigerator and freezer. We bought snacks and drinks at the local Walgreens. My only complaint was there was one king size bed for 4 people. There is a sofabed in the living room but not big enough for 2 people. We had an air mattress brought to the room as well. As a whole, the entire staff is amazing. Everyone is welcoming and eager to please you. The pools were beautiful and we didn't have any difficulty finding chairs even with the hotel booked to capacity. The hotel is a quick walk to the beach which was a nice alternative to the pool. The fitness center is the best we've ever seen in any of our stays anywhere. We ate at La Perla one evening and the food was definitely 5 star quality as well as the service from our waitress, Elaine. The inside is breathtaking as well. On Fridays and Saturdays, there is a DJ at the bar inside the hotel which was a lot of fun. We met a lot of great people too.The location of the hotel is very convenient as well. We were about 15 minutes from the airport and very close to Old San Juan too. The Bacardi Rum factory was a little further but still within a cab ride about $30. We ate at the local restaurants which offered a nice change if you didn't want to eat on the premises. We had happy hour at other hotels and bars in the area. We especially liked Orale Guey. Miguel was a great bar tender and pleasant to talk to. We had a lot of fun there and went back several times for food and drinks. It's very safe to walk around. There are little boutiques in the area for shopping too. Overall, we were very pleased to stay at La Concha. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

From the moment we pulled up, we felt comfortable and welcomed. Felix Perez was absolutely wonderful. We were nervous because of the drive from the airport- traffic is chaotic. And Felix made us feel right at home. At night we would always go to John Maldonado (a security guard) for directions around the area. He was an asset to us. Everyone was nice, but these two went above and beyond. They really enjoy their work. The hotel was great. The setting was great. Ben and Jerry's had the best breakfast and it's right next door.

Room Tip: Rooms facing ocean probably the best. We had one in the corner and got a lot of noise from a storage...

Stayed at the LaConcha for a 1 night pre cruise stay. It was half way from the airport to the cruise ship so it was ok. The hotel was nice.clean.and good service. We had breakfast and dinner and it was very good in all ways. The beach outside the window was beautiful but a bit too rough for a swim. The sound of the waves would have been great but the noise of rowdy party people and breaking glass from thrown bottles made that impossible. Seems like lot of groups of party people so a nice quiet place on the beach it is not.

Room Tip: beach side has views and waves but we were near an adjoining street that was party central

We travel a lot and this has got to be one of the most beautiful hotels we have staying in. The staff is constantly working to improve the surroundings. If you need anything they are at your room immediately. The decorating is absolutely fabulous. The staff goes out of their way to greet you and see if they can help you in anyway. Definitely get a room overlooking the ocean as there are large picture windows and it looks like the ocean waves come up to your window. We looked at the other hotels on the island to make sure we were staying in the best and we were. I would definitely give it 5 stars. The food is fabulous no matter which restaurant you choose. We will be back. Hospitals on the island are not very desirable. I tripped in town and had to go to ER and was glad I did not need more urgent care.

Beach front rooms are clean and the views are amazing. I am not sure I would have liked staying in this hotel if we didn't have the view. Room bathrooms include a rain shower, aveda products, luxurious robe and tons of fresh towels. Maid service is great. Outside of helping with bags, the concierge wasn't helpful with excursions or restaurant recommendations. We used trip advisor, yelp, etc. The hotel is right on Ashford Avenue- which is basically a beach strip. We were expecting to see more beach/resort wear shops in addition to the LV, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo stores, but instead it was mostly gross dive bars and cheap t-shirt shops. The pool service is lovely and food is very good (and affordable) but not a lot of privacy at the actual pool- the chairs are all right next to each other. Beach has drink service and free day beds but there is a bit of a surf. Not too much but it is a beach on the atlantic that gets wind so know this going into the trip.

We took a two our trip to Old San Juan. This is also where the big cruise ships come in so tons of tourists and more cheap trinket and t-shirt shops. We sat outside at the Puerto Rico Cafe on the Colon square for a mojito and Appetizers which was nice. The square is extremely small and your home town probably has something more interesting to see. For 3 bucks , the fort was cool to see but it's a lot of walking - especially uphill.

I will write a separate review on our excursion to Playa de Flamenco. But in summary, DO NOT TAKE THE CARGO FERRY. It was awful. I saw at least 6 people puking and it was like a horror movie. There are 20 min flights from San Juan for the same price as taking a cab to the ferry terminal. The beach is gorgeous but the beach amenities are gross. Bathrooms are awful, picnic tables are dilapidated, and food stands would never make any type of USDA approval. The port on Culebre is a dump. We are not divers so there might be beaches that make the 3 hr journey to get there worth it but I would NEVER go again unless it was a catamaran (calm seas) excursion from the hotel or a flight directly to the beach. Note- there are lines at the ferry in fajardo and they are filled with obnoxious loud teenagers tailgating with drinks and guitars.

Room Tip: Beachfront is a must. I don't think I would have enjoyed the stay as much if we were in a room w...

Wow!! My husband and I travel to Puerto Rico every December. We have stayed in all areas of the island . The area of Condado has everything and the La Concha Resort is the best of the best. From the stunning design of the building, the wonderful staff, the four pools, beautiful rooms and of course the beach, this place can't be beat. The location right on Ashford Avenue is convenient for leisurely strolls, great open cafes, everyday amenities (Walgreen's, Dunkin Donuts) and a short cab ride to the beautiful city of Old San Juan. We love the area and the La Concha Resort is the place to stay!
