“Amazing stay!!”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

First time in Puerto Rico. La Concha staff made us feel at home. We were greeted with a very friendly welcome from Felix, who is awesome. Check in was easy, we arrived early and was able to do early check-in. We got our room key and our luggage was brought up quickly. We had a king oceanfront room with a balcony and the view was BREATHTAKING. The rooms were nice and clean and looked just like the pictures.

The hotel has 3 pools 2 are infinity pools and 2 hot tubs that are open 24 hours and we spent alot of time there. Its a very close walk to the beach which is nice and clean, but beware of the very big waves that look very dangerous. We ordered drinks and food by the pool and the staff was very nice and attentive. The lobby on Friday and Saturday is very live with a dj until 3am. I will say i can agree with everyone who says the elevators are veryyyy SLOW!! But thats not a deal breaker.

The hotel staff was very professional and nice. I enjoyed my first time in Puerto Rico and La Concha made it even better. Whenever i return to I will be staying at the La Concha, thanks again for an amazing experience! Puerto Rico does it better :) and thanks Felix!

Room Tip: High floor rooms with ocean view and balcony are the best.

I've stayed at the La Concha on business, and it's definitely a good spot for a work trip. However, if I were in San Juan for fun I wouldn't want to stay here.

Pros: good location, nice part of town, clean, nice rooms, decent bar with good food and drink selection.

Cons: horribly slow elevators (I ended up taking stairs up and down 7 flights every time), lobby music is loud and annoying, not a relaxing place, just doesn't give off a vacation vibe to me. Lots of people coming in and out, especially during rush hour. Breakfast is a rip off - I got a slice of banana bread, a coffee and OJ and it was $11.

I just think that for the price you pay to stay here you could find a nicer place... but it's not a bad spot to stay by any means.

First time visiting PR for a bachelor party.

La Concha provided me with a spectacular experience. Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great service. My room was easily twice the size I was suspecting. Great balcony facing the ocean. Massive bathroom. It was a king size bed with a pull out in the separate living space. The pool and pool side service was amazing. The bartenders and servers were all social.

Would definitely stay here again when going to San Juan.

Went with husband and 2 daughter, 21 & 17.. I would reccomend it. Only minor complaints we had was that the sofa bed is really for one person to fit. Bellman quickly brought a blow up air mattress. Air mattress was kinda cheap, but overal they tried.. Service fantastic! Hotel employees were professional and speedy. Food prices for breakfast were $ 25 pp all you can, kinda pricey. Go across the street to eat all your meals. CVS down street and you can buy your own liquor and have your own midngiht cap if you want. Felt very safe and rooms were always super clean. Beach has a few ppl to guard and make sure only hotel guests use the beach and recylners. I felt it is more of an adult hotel rather than a place for a family with little ones to run around. Once you are out on beach, you truley forget that this is a downtown hotel. Beach super clean and a few employees walking around delivering drinks. There are no scheduled activities, but it is not a "resort hotel". Hotel / beach is a bit older but beach is super clean. WAVES are strong in the undertow. Don't leave your kids unattended. Waves took my 17 y o and tumbled her in the water, kinda scary. Overall, for a stay to be downtown, I thought is was very good & clean. Streets are a bit noisey during rush hour. We walked within a 3 block radius and felt safe.

Room Tip: Buy an insulated ice portable foldable beach bag that is designed to a purse. It is a new item. Tha...

Recently my husband and I went to PR and stayed at La Concha Hotel. It was the first week of may when a young lady was debuting as singer & artist with her presentation at the lobby.
The lobby was beautiful with updated decoration and the atmosphere . Full with fun and good attitude people. Great ambiance!!!!

We went to meet some friends at Perla restaurant where the hostess was extremely nice and helpful, Don't recall her name, but really went the extra mile. At the Ocean Lounge we encounter Chrsitina Ilariuucci who made our stay there more than pleasurable. Even though we did not stay long she was kind and very attentive, and helped us book tour reservation, great service!!!!!.

Traveled to La Concha July 8-11 with my husband and it was a beautiful hotel. It is walking distance from many restaurants and clothing stores. The hotel itself offers 3 restaurants and the pool is open 24 hours! We hung out mostly at the main pool but they also have 2 other pools, one which is adults only. Our room wasn't too big but we thought it was perfect. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Our room had a view of the beach which was nice. We visited the bacardi factory-very nice but far if your staying at La Concha. You can either pay $45 cab ride there and back or you can take the bus .75 to Old San Juan to the Ferry $1.00 to another cab for $10.00. We opted for the bus, ferry, and cab route and it took almost the entire afternoon. So be sure to make a day out of it. I highly recommend visiting Old San Juan its very traditional and absolutely beautiful scenery! Great photo opts. We ate at "Raices" the mofongo there is delicious!! We also recommend stopping in Senor Frogs for a night. Overall we took the bus a lot to save money and I recommend eating outside of the hotel. There is a nearby Walgreens that sells beer and liquor. There is also a Wendys, Dunkin Donuts, Chilis nearby. We ate at a restaurant called "Waiters" which is also a bar and the food there was pretty good as well. The staff at the hotel was super friendly and accommodating. We felt safe walking in the street because there were police officers everywhere! Overall Puerto Rico was beautiful but its just like being in New York with New York prices. Puerto Rico is very commercial but make sure you visit Old San Juan to get that PR traditional feeling. We loved La Concha!

Room Tip: Unless you really want a balcony don't pay the extra $$$ our room was a standard room and we sti...

We were very enthusiastically welcomed to the hotel. Our car and luggage were taken care of upon driving up to the hotel. It was 11 am so the room was not ready because there were a lot of people checking out. I was told I would be notified by cellphone call when the room would be ready. We went out for lunch across the street to fill in time while waiting for room. At 1 pm we were called that our room was ready. We were so impressed with our suite. Our room has a living room, bathroom, closet, drawers, separating the living room from the bedroom. The room had a microwave, stove, small refrigerator, utensils, dishes, pans, coffee maker, fully equipped. The hotel has three pools, access to the beach, a nice bar and several restaurants, store in the lobby for snacks, sodas, and souvenirs. If I had read the hotel amenities I would have brought food to cook because we had a full service kitchenette. It would have saved a lot of money on the mediocre and very expensive meals we had across the street from the hotel. We had a great time by the pool and on the beach. The hotel is very modern. The bar was very expensive. We did not eat in the the hotel restaurants because they are very expensive. If you can come fully equipped to make the best use of the suite kitchen then this would be a perfect and economical location to stay. To take a cab to nearby restaurants is also very expensive.I liked it enough to plant to come back but better equipped to use the suite kitchen in order to have good and economical meals.

Room Tip: Rent the suite because they come fully equipped to have your meals in your room. You just have to fi...
