I love lighthouses and history, so this fort was a must-see. Well worth a stop. School children were out on holiday flying kites on the grounds. Seems to be a tradition. The views of the ocean, buildings, and cemetery were breth-taking.

Beautiful 360 degree views. Make sure to check out this site when visiting Old San Juan; very much worth it! So much history and fun to explore.

Make this place a priority visit when you're in the San Juan area. It's a beautiful historic site and make sure to stay for the sunset.

This is an old Spanish fort from medieval times that is now a US National Park. It gives fascinating information about European and US presence on the island. You get great ocean breezes and beautiful views as you wander the fort and get new perspectives.

Beautiful and historic fort located at the entrance to San Juan harbor. Has incredible history and has been well maintained. Affords amazing views out towards the harbor and sea as well as back towards Old San Juan. A must visit for anyone spending time in San Juan!

Wear comfortable shoes but this place was packed full of history and beauty. The cost of the ticket gets you into this and into Castillo de San Cristobal just a 10 minute walk down the hill!

We walked from Castillo de San Cristobal to San Felipe del Morro which took 30 minutes. Along the way we saw remnants of the city wall and sentry posts. El Morro is well preserved with interpretive sites that explained the history and objects associated with the Spanish settlement. The size and magnitude of the historic fortress rivals those in Europe. Marvelous!

If you love history or want to see a great view of the water, definitely plan time to visit El Morro. The grounds in front of the fort are also a great place to fly kites because there is almost always a constant breeze. Just be aware that there are a lot of ramps and stairs in the fort, but the workout is definitely worth it.

My husband and I love history so this place was a must see. Be prepared for a lot of steps and inclines! We took so many pictures. Absolutely gorgeous views of Puerto Rico! The property is well maintained the rangers are very informative. Did not get to see the entire structure so I will return!
