A chocolate lover paradise. Service is good, food is very good. Choco Burger with chocolate ketchup was delicious. Tradicional hot chocolate with cheese and chocolate is always amazing. Highly recommended for people who love chocolate.

Casa Cortes is a gastronomic place where the chocolate has a prominent position. You can enjoy a variety of food and drinks all make with chocolate Cortes. I really like the entire menu. There you can also buy a chocolate bar, powdered chocolate and a variety of product. If you love chocolate, highly recommended, especially for breakfast.

This is indeed an oasis. We try to go here every time we come to the island, (twice a year at least). It is Puerto Rico at its finest. The food selections in the first floor cafe are simply a foodies delight. It is creative and satisfying meal, drink and desert. the drink and desert selections are of course chocolate based. As in any high end restaurant the food is perfectly balanced and the pricing is moderate being an extremely good value. The upper two floors are galleries of the Cortes Foundation. These gallery floors are changing exhibitions featuring the impact that Puerto Rican and Caribbean Artists have made in Art. This building simply rocks with Creativity, Culinary and Fine Arts.

Never underestimate the combination of chocolate and cheese.

I would share this delicious combination with friends and they would look at me sideways "hot chocolate and cheese". Trust and believe all the goodness that you will miss out on if you do not come to this place.

They even sell cool souvenirs and sweet treats to go!

Host, staff and prices were amazing and would definitley go back

This is no ordinary chocolate place. Thi is Puerto Rico's Willi Wonka. Cortes started this in 1931 and he ( Don Pedro) dedicated himself to producing the best chocolate in the world. The Cortes's have not stopped for one minute to improve since then. They are always trying to make everything they can get their hands on into chocolate. When you come here, you will taste the best hot chocolate period. This is all they have been doing for nearly a century. And they do it from scratch. No hormones, no GMO, no chemicals, just chocolate from the plant to your cup. The museum is upstairs and yes, you will find guides, you just have to ask because the museum is not the primary portion in this place, chocolate is. Ask any employee, they are all extremely well trained and versed on the history and will go out of their way for you. Some items are a little expensive but a hot cup of cocoa is a must here.

The museum is upstairs and their is no one to guide welcome or guide you. Downstairs is the restaurant that I describe as a coffee shop, but they have more than that.
chocolate bites are delicious, but too expensive for a quarter size chocolate.

I love the food here! I cannot believe everything is made with chocolate, even the salads and sandwiches ... I have yet to taste something I do not like in here.
Good for bringing the family. Has an attached Cortés Chocolate History Museum. Haven't been there yet, but should be interesting/educational.

Easily located in Old San Juan. Some of the most beautiful artwork in the area. Always concentrated to Puerto Rican artists with plenty of other pieces from all over the Caribbean. A "must see" during your day trip to the old city. While there, go downstairs to the ChocoBar to satisfy your sweet tooth. Yummmm!!
