Description: Global flavors. Locally-rooted. World-class cuisine ~ that truly knows its place. At 1919, we are passionately committed to offering up the freshest organic and local ingredients for each and every dish we create. We believe in sourcing all our menu components with social consciousness and always at the pinnacle of good taste. We place the highest value on hand-selecting products that are local, artisanal, and homemade in order to craft food that is truly flavor-forward ~ served up fresh and with a contemporary flair ~ from our kitchen to your table. Subdued elegance in a space generous enough for conviviality, yet private enough to provoke intimate conversation. Visitors to our dining salon will attest: The only onlooker here is the ocean. In The Year 1919 The Condado Vanderbilt Hotel was built by the legendary Vanderbilt family under the direction of renowned architect Whitney Warren whose other landmark designs include Grand Central Terminal

This restaurant is in the Concado Vanderbilt Hotel, a historic art deco building. Not only is the achitecture worth the visit, but drinks overlooking the ocean are a must in sun set. Follow it with a very good meal and service. Expensive but worth it.

We were one of the first few though that opulent over-restored lobby in the old Vanderbilt Mansion.
We dined.
We wined.
We felt spoiled and loved by the staff.
We were weekly customers when we flew in...they, Marmalade and Compostela grace our lives still, while others come and go.

After years, this restaurant continues to keep us happy...never wanting.
There is talk that the Hotel portion of the property has made it through its financial struggles and will open December of this year.

Eat good food.
1919 is good food.

This has to be the prettiest restaurant in all of Puerto Rico (maybe La Perla @La Concha)

Anyways, please dress up when you go here (that's to you "gringos" on vacation!). Guys, this is the real deal. Great food, great presentation and AMAZING decoration. Maybe their ratio of staff to clients suffers during some dates, and it showed in our visit. Staff was trying to be attentive but you could tell they where somewhat understaffed. We had the tasting menu and it was very nice. Only drawback is the price, it really drops the value proposition. The food was great but it's all reinterpretations of dishes I've had elsewhere, don't get me wrong, they are very well cooked, but nothing struck me as innovative or challenging the status quo. Not that the restaurant has such things as it's goals, but for the price I was expecting at least ONE dish to blow me away.

But do visit, make it an event and you will enjoy it. The bar at the lobby is AMAZINGLY well stocked, too bad the hotel is not a hotel YET. It's empty, no rooms :(

Oh, and if you are looking for a place to impress a lady (or date) this is it, specially ordering some bubbly (we had a bottle, can't remember the name, but it was vertically ribbed and somewhat twisted).

So I was looking for a good place to take some good good friends that more than friends are Heroes that when need it were willing to sacrifice all for this Nation

My veterans friends deserve the best, therefore I took them to 1919 Condado Vanderbilt, the view is breathtaking, the lobby is very elegant but yet very friendly

We were seated by the window, and we chose the three course meal, I started with the crab salad and it was delicious, I continue with the fish which was delectable I had it with two glasses of pink champagne and finish with coffee with Kahlua

Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff, highly recommend

By far Juan Cuevas is one of the best chefs in PR. His creations are innovative but a masterpiece conserving the essence of each component. Service is superb, ambiance romantic!

This place is a must!
