We stumbled across this coffee shop and art gallery/shop as we were walking through Old San Juan. It's a great respite from the heat and an opportunity to see some art items that are not typical souvenir fare. They have poetry reading on Tuesday nights, but we weren't on the ground at that time to enjoy it.

The coffee shop was wonderful, the large coffee's were HUGE. We tried their chocolate cake and it was delicious. I had a basic latte and my wife had a caramel latte and both were excellent. If we find ourselves in San Juan again, this will be a must stop for us.

Found this place on the Old San Juan Areas Urban Guides map and decided to check it out. There was lots of creativity about. Beautiful poetry and art. There was even two caged birds that spoke and sang (at least that was my interpretation) and sought lots of attention. The venue was fairly unpopulated when I visited and they appeared to be getting in stock or moving items because staff didn't acknowledge visitors or offer to help. There is a Cafe Poetico attached that I did not visit, but they were not crowded mid-day either. Beautiful art all around.

Half cafe, half retail shop featuring poety and art work from local writers/artists. Fun to look around. Good coffee and excellent blended fruit drinks (not too sweet). Cafe staff were great, retail shop staff were less so.

A perfect stop in your walking day in thru the Old San Juan. You can enjoy a good coffee or tea with pastries, salads or sandwiches in a very nice intellectual ambiance. I like the paper and pencil in the table to try your inspiration and the Wi Fi services for free. But the really best is the customer services, they make you feel part of the place. In addition they have very original and funny gift for shop and some cultural programs...

Very good coffee but odd atmosphere. It was a stop on our food tour and I didn't understand why. It wasn't traditional, it wasn't really special, but it did have good Puerto Rican flan (more like cheese cake)
