We stayed here for 1 night pre-cruise in May. The location is ok, in a residential area close to the port.
Rooms are big and prices are right. There were shops and restaurants very close.
The roof terrace is wonderful, we sat there for hours.
Nice amenities, like gym, laundry and a restaurant.

Outlets are only two prong, so remember that if you have a laptop with three prongs. Internet can be difficult to get if you are far from the wi-fi router near the elevator. Front desk personnel was constantly busy. Not the best area, but close to bus stop that runs to Old San Juan. Cheap bus fare. No pool. No dvd player. Microwave and fridge are a plus, but bring your own utensils. Funky smell in hotel and they need to get rid of their ugly bedspreads. Pull up the carpet and add some type of hard flooring that is more sanitary too.

Thank you for taking the time to express your opinion. We are dissapointed to see the ratings you afforded us and while we disagree with your assesment of our Award winning hotel we respect it and value it as it gives us an opportunity to improve !

The star ratings are based on services and facilities provided at our hotel and are awarded by travel industry professionals. . Among the services we provide are on site restaurant and bar (currrently being remodeled), room service, free wi fi, free parking, dry bar with microwave and mini fridge, wall mounted hair dryer, iron and ironing board in each room, wall to wall tiled bathrooms, , electronic safe, voice mail messaging, free guest laundry, valet, gym with free weights, treadmill, bike, etc, free business center and an amazing roof top terrace among others.

Based on all of the above we are a 3 star hotel and probably one of the best hotel values in all of San Juan, let there be no doubt.

As part of our continous improvements we are actually retroffing all of our guest roos with 3 prong outlets as well as remodeling our restaurant and bar as mentioned before.

The staff is friendly and accommodating, especially after car rental theft. Hotel staff paid for cab fare to area attractions and to the airport. The room was was well maintained and offered access to a rooftop pool! In addition, they offer complimentary valet parking. However, there is only a handful of parking spots behind building and only one way out. As a result, if available, they will park your car in front of hotel. Street lighting is dim at best. Hotel location is close proximity to San Juan.

It is very rewarding when persons such as yourself take time to recognize their efforts.. We are glad to hear that your enjoyed your stay and found that our facilities met your expectations. Also we are happy to learn the staff went out of their way to make up for the car inconvenience.

We regret that you had such an unsavory experience with your rental car. The Condado/Miramar area is one of the safest and upscale areas of San Juan and incidents such as the one involving your car are infrequent and spaced in time.

You will happy to know that in addition to the on site parking, we have now leased a secure parking lot across the street from the hotel to accommodate our growth in occupancy . From the reception desk the agent on duty can open via remote control the gate so our guest have easy in and out access.

Thank you again and we look forward to hosting you the next time your travel plans bring you back to the San Juan area.

We booked this hotel a few weeks before our cruise through a travel agency. The lady told us she did not know the hotel. We arrive there, the front office lady, told us, they are overbooked, but she has made a reservation at an other hotel in the neighbourhood.

The taxi left of course, and i asked her why she didn't tell us before the taxi left or for that matters why she didn't meet us outside to inform us, so we wouldn't get all the bags out of the taxi.

She told it takes a taxi 2 seconds to be here. Gess what that was true. I asked her if the hotel will pay for the taxi she said NO, it is just one block, you don't want to walk. and it is just $5. Like you are goning to tell where and how i should spent my money? We ended paying $14 for a ride of 5 minutes.

Imagine my frustration, my mom have dificulties walking, we are the ones that carry her bags. I'm on a vacation and i have to drag bags for one block because Hotel miramar was overbooked.

SO we did not see the inside of the Hotel, so about that i can't give any information, but if the staff is rude like the front office lady, i can imagine what kind of people works there. Sadly enough I know it can happend, but if she was a bit polite than for us there was nothing happening.

This is for in case the manger wants to react on my review like i saw, was done in other bad reviews, and i will get the same kind of things like i know from were you are, i know people like you etc. Spare me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am from Curacao, My husband and i worked hard and if we choose to go to puerto rico to take a cruise and begin our vacation we expect to be respected not to be treated like this. ANd besure that i waited to come back from my vacation to write this review after i had the time to self examine if i did some thing wrong. I am a customer, so miss front lady should be polite and if she thinks that i can walk a block, she should keep it to her self.

Like i said we are from Curacao, our economy depends on tourists so i know how to threat a customer/ tourist and it is not like this. Normally i do not write review not bad not good, I tipped the people that i think deserved it. I've been travelling since i was very little with my parents and i never never had nobody threat us this way. I'm telling my travel agency what happend and besure, you won't get customer from them anymore.

I hope you take the time to read this and send mis front office lady to a seminar how to threat customer.

We are always interested in our guests opinions that will allow us to improve our operations which have earned us the distinction of being named the Overall Best Small Hotel of Puerto Rico by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company for the year 2012-2013.

Foremost we would like to extend our most sincere apologies for the lack of care shown by our Front Desk agent on duty. As you yourself stated, our own procedures were not followed. When a guest has to be relocated to another hotel, our staff is to meet them at the taxi BEFORE they enter the hotel, hand a letter extending certain courtesies and always UPGRADING the hotel category.

In your case, we upgraded your reservation to the Marriott Courytard, just down the street..but failed to follow an established protocol.

Jennifer's comments were not intended to insult you but rather a genuine comment without malice that the Marriott was just a short walk away.

You can rest assured that our staff is made up of excellent team players that strive daily to provide outstanding customer service and what you experienced is not representative of who we really are.
You letter has been shared with everyone at the front desk to prevent another occurance. We would like to extend to you and your family an invitation to return to our hotel so that you can really experience our comfort and hospitality.

This hotel is ideal for an overnight stay before the cruise. Hotel staff very helpfull. Good traditional restaurant round the corner for an evening meal and a good cafe opposite for breakfast (lovely omelette). Very clean and comfortable.

This is a great Hotel for a small hotel. Rooms are clean and roomy. Staff knowledgable and pleasant. No there is no pool but there is a work-out room and sundeck. Small parking on the back of the hotel but if you cannot find parking they will take care of your car and park it for you. Very close to old San Juan and the beach. Great location.

I chose this hotel based on the location and price promotion. For the money we saved, Hotel
Miramar was the best choice. The hotel was inviting and clean. The staff was knowledgeable and very accommodating. The rooms are spacious and clean. We had everything we needed near by.
I wanted to get married in San Juan and I needed only one night stay before leaving for my honeymoon the next day. My fiancé and I did not know the area so we relied on the staff at the hotel. Jill and Martin gave us excellent customer service. I first contacted Jill about us having our wedding ceremony pronounced at the hotel. She assured me that she would contact the manager to make sure it was ok to do that. Jill contacted me in a timely manner for us to make plans. She also gave us a room with the a better view. On the day of our arrival I met Jill and Martin. Martin is the hotel manager. Martin went over and beyond customer service to make sure that our expectations were met. He even took pictures for us and e-mailed them to us. Our first night as husband and wife at Hotel Miramar will never be forgotten. We could have spent our first night as husband and wife any where else in San Juan but, we are very pleased that we stayed at Hotel Miramar. We would like to thank Martin and Jill for making our wedding a day at Hotel Miramar an unforgettable memory.
