“Mediocre... and expensive... that's it...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014

My readers love my reviews, so here’s another one folks, enjoy it.

Located on Pinero Ave, this place looks really interesting place to visit, good and centric location, it has a really good ambience... however the food is not good, it’s just ok...
Raised in an Italian family which made their own pasta I can judge without prejudges pasta quality, and let me tell u something, this pasta is not good, they have fresh homemade pasta “filled” (sorrentinos, ravioli etc..) and also the typical box pasta spaghetti linguini etc..

Ordered Sorrentinos filled with Ricotta and ham, with a nut and cream sauce… sounds great in the paper but when the dish came to the table it was not good.. The sauce had too many nuts making it bitter…the ricotta was really bad and tasteless, no cheesy, and no ham there…that made the sorrentinos too heavy consistency, too compact, after eating 2 sorrentinos I was full packed…I did not want to eat anymore…

The menu offers mixed sorrentinos, meat, chicken and spinach.. this kind of thing makes that menu a bit ordinary and low budget… real Italian filled pasta NEVER be mixed… that’s a sacrilege…

To make it worst, they charge 15 dollars for the sorrentinos, but they charge another 5 dollars for the sauce of your choice, this cheap selling trick makes this place to be really ordinary and expensive, making a final 20 dollars for a simple sorrentino dish… sad…
This is not an Italian restaurant, this restaurant is run by Argentinians, so I understand why the food has so low quality. I have read some other reviews about how great this place is, probably those guys are local people used to eat rice and beans, and ronsoni 80 ctvs box pasta.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2014

Il Couco was my favorite restaurant when I was living in P.R. a very small and cozy place with awesome staff and gray food! My food was always served fresh with delicious flavor I had never a complaint about the food or staff!

“Okay but not great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

Visited on a Sunday night. Started off a little strange...they have a guy valet parking who takes your keys to park but doesn't give you a valet ticket. Inside was a family atmosphere (it was a Sunday). My spinach pasta with red sauce and shrimps/mussels was okay though the shell fish wasn't very fresh. The other past dishes were fine. Service was friendly.

Overall not bad or special. I could eat there again but probably won't.

“Small place with huge taste”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013

The menu is a mix of the Italian cuisine with an Argentinian approach.
This is one of the few places I can say the food tastes like it was home made.
The people are very friendly, the service is not that fast, I went on a weekend night, but they have a nice environment in the place, the little wait was not a problem at all.
I ended in this place when randomly looking where to eat and definitely would come back in the future because I had one of the best dishes I have enjoyed in a restaurant. I had Sorrentinos with vodka sauce, also tried the Skirt Steak from a friend, both were excellent.
