We got there as they opened and they welcomed us in. Nice, cozy place with bench seating which was perfect for our group. The pizza and the pasta was very good. Service was outstanding!

Being in San Juan on a cruise, upon waking the streets of Old Town San Juan we came across this pizzeria & glad we did. The 2 for 1 Pironi's for $5 was a great starter/value before ordering the pizza. There are several varieties of Pizza available. The pizza great being a hybrid between NY & CHI style with the toppings, sauce, dough/crust. The next time we're in San Juan we definitely will return.

Tips: arrive before 6 pm since it gets very crowded/busy. Upon leaving the wait was 30-45 for a table.
It's a good mix of tourists & locals (mostly undergraduate collegiate age).
They could use some more staff around dinner when it gets busy since the staff got behind due to overwhelming numbers of people in the restaurant.

This was a great dining experience. My family and I (six of us in total) ate here on a recent visit to Old San Juan for a late lunch/early dinner. The pizza was amazing and the service was great. To start we had:

- 1 tapas sampler (~$14) which included mamposteao croquettes, fried yucca chips, fried cheese, and one or two other items
- 1 order of Empanadillas Marineras (tapas, ~$10)
` 1 order of String Fries with Cilantro Aioli (tapas, ~$4)

Everything was delicious - especially the sampler. Then for our main course we got:

- 1 Grande half "La Pampa"/half "Margherita" pizza (~$26)

This pizza was fantastic, so fantastic in fact that upon finishing it, we ordered another grande half "El Pecado"/half "Margherita" pizza.

The service was great. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Old San Juan. There are plenty of mediocre places to eat there - do yourself a favor and come here instead.

As a side note, this place gets packed around lunch time and dinner time (ie 45 minute wait, line to the door) so I would recommend coming at an off time like 4 PM. There is seating available upstairs as well.

We ate here on a Friday night by chance, and overall we were impressed with the food and the quantity for the price. The pizza options are great and the value was very good. One larger pizza was plenty for two people and would likely serve three people who aren't giant pigs. The only drawback was the service. For some reason, the service we received was terribly slow. We had to ask twice for a check and then we had to go up to the bar to get our check. I imagine this isn't the norm. Overall we liked this place and wanted to return.

Very nice lunch here. We had the sampler of empanadas which we shared, hommus as an additional appetizer, my wife had the raviolis with Alfredo sauce, and I had the signature salad with smoked salmon. We each drank pina coladas.

Service was decent, and all of the food was quite good except the hommus. It was pretty dry, and had no taste of tahini which we prefer in this appetizer. The pina coladas were very tasty, but with a LOT of coconut which made getting to the last sips was a challenge.

The décor is very Italian-bistro, and the place seemed very popular for pizzas and calzones. The neighboring tables also seemed to enjoy their food, and portions were quite ample.

A good choice on Calle Fortaleza.

Hi Agilberttx,
Our hummus is a variation of the classic Arab plate. It’s made with white beans. It’s served with yucca cracklings. Its texture is soft and creamy. If you prefer, next time you are here ask our waitress for some of our extra virgin olive oil.
Thank you for your positive criticism and for considering us “A good choice on Calle Fortaleza”
Best regards,
Pirilo Gennerosso
