Nice rainforest with some decent walks and some cool waterfalls. It tends to rain a lot but that is to be expected. It rained off and on while we were there so make sure you bring some ponchos. There are some decent towers that you can hike to but if you are looking to see some wildlife this really isn't the place. I was surprised by the lack of birds in the area, however there were plenty of frogs. The place was free and worth the visit but nothing spectacular

Great area to walk through. Waterfall that you can swim in at the end of the trail. Trail goes through a beautiful forest and it rains a lot so, take an umbrella! Many unusual species of plants that I can only dream about growing at home! Be sure you can walk well because the trail is a little iver a mile but it is paved all the way.

The park service maps on the trails are often wrong (distance, amount of time to hike) so our family of 4 was lucky to have the seasoned, knowledgeable John Druitt with us as we wanted to get to the top of El Yunque trail. John will tailor the hike to your group and you can trust him to take you to amazing places where you will see very few (if any) other hikers. On the way down there is no way to avoid them, but by then you don't mind sharing the trail. Spend a day with John and you will have experienced El Yunque completely. This was my second time there and it was a big improvement over a do-it-yourself visit.

We were very pleased, happy & quite satisfied with our tour of the El Yunque Rainforest with Island Walkers. NOT ONE COMPLAINT! Our guide Javier was wonderful. He is very knowledgeable & passionate about the rainforest. We had a lot of fun with Javier. He certainly helped make our experience memorable and shared some of his knowledge of the rainforest with us.
We were able to walk at our own pace & did not feel rushed. Since we were a group of 4 seniors this was a plus for us. Javier even helped me traverse the rocks that were under the water at the falls so I could take a dip. He also was thoughtful enough to help me find a book at the gift shop. I think his boss should give him a raise.
We met Javier at Palmers Bakery in the town of Palmer, just minutes from the rainforest, where we had very tasty omelets and delicious coffee for breakfast. We stopped back for coffee & delicious pastries after the tour. John Druitt of Island Walkers had suggested Palmers to us and we are very glad we took his suggestion.

John Druitt and his insightful tour of El Yunque was the absolute highlight of our trip to San Juan. My husband and I are very active and in our mid 30s, and John totally delivered the kind of tour we were looking for. He not only provided insightful information about the rainforest, but he he a wealth of knowledge of Puerto Rico, its economy and people that enhanced our total experience.

We have nothing but great things to say about John, and appreciates his down to earth approach and friendliness. He has a wonderful passion for El Yunque and for Puerto Rico and we enjoyed the time we got to spend with him.
