This place was really good. Its actually called "Cafe Del Angel" and is located directly across the street from the La Concha hotel in Condado. We were looking for authentic Puerto Rican food our first night in town and after walking up and down the street, we decided to check this place out. Boy, are we glad we did! We ate here 3 or 4 more times during our stay at La Concha. First, the food is authentic local cuisine at about half the price as the hotel food. The waiters were all very friendly and helped us in picking out the good stuff. Definitely try the Canoa appetizer which is a plantain stuffed with a spicy ground meat and covered in queso fresco. Really good. The Mofongo is excellent and the lunch sandwiches are huge and delicious. If you are staying in Condado, particularly at La Concha or the nearby Marriott, check this place out. You may find yourself eating here a lot. We did!

Great place for authentic Island Cuisine, located right in the Condado Beach area, near the Casino and Bars, made for a great night out.

Our waiter was amazing, he gave us all good and honest suggestions and we truly enjoyed our meal. We ordered the white sangria and it rocked!

Have already recommended this place to friends that will be on the Island next month, will definitely eat here again.

My only regret was that we found this place on our last night, we would have eaten here multiple nights. Amazing food, great prices and great service.

Being in close vacinity to where we were staying we went to cafe angels for breakfast/lunch one day. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich for lunch and although it was just a simple sandwich, it was incredibly delicious. When the group suggested we go back for dinner, I had no problem with this. Dinner was even better. Starting off with the calamari and cassava balls with cod fish was a good option. My dad and brother had the canoa which was HUGE (One is more than enough, and judging by the empty plate, I'd say it was good). For my entree I had the shrimp in creole sauce which was excellent as well as the two sides that cae with it. I opted for rice and beans and mashed potatoes, but the maduros and tostones were also very nice.

it's a small place without much in decor, but you can eat indoors or outdoors, and there's a full bar. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is delicious. Just wish they weren't 2000 miles away or I'd eat there all the time. The one negative is that we were there on a Sunday night (after getting off of our cruise ship) and it appears that many others had the same idea--the place was packed, and the kitchen and servers had trouble keeping up with the orders for some time. Our waiter said this is typical after a ship unloads, and you can tell that the workers are doing their best to help everyone, but don't expect to get in and out of here when they're busy--at least an hour.

We asked at the hotel for a good restaurant that served local Puerto Rican food. They sent us to Cafe del Angel. The decor is nothing fancy but the food was great and plenty of it. You can sit in the open air portion of the restaurant or you can eat inside. Our server was Epi. He was great, quick service, good recomendations and he clearly explained the different dishes.

We had a Canoa for an appetizer (fried sweet plantain stuffed with ground beef and vegetables and melted cheese). This was enough for a meal. It was sweet, salty, good balance of flavors. My wife had the Churrasco (skirt steak) prepared medium rare and it was great. I had the Mofongos Rellenos (stuff Mofongo with pork). This was great. Again a great balance of flavors, spices and texture. For desserts we had vanilla flanes, cocconut flanes and tres leches. All great.

We had such a great dinner we went back a second time.

Cafe del Angel is a must if you want to experience great local fare.
