On a recent holiday to San Juan, we once again visited Cafe Manolin in Old San Juan. It's kind of hard to find, but worth the search. If you're looking for fine dining, don't go. It's not fancy, looks like it's in a time warp from the 50's, but the food is great. Weekdays be prepared to line up for a table if you go at the noon-hour. Cafe Manolin is very popular with the locals. This trip we visited on a Saturday, and while busy, we didn't have to wait. The lunch menu is extensive and very reasonably priced. Service can be slow and sometimes the food could be a little hotter, but overall, if you want to get a "taste" of Puerto Rico, I recommend giving it a try.
