“BOGO Free Mojitos!”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

By far our favorite restaurant in Old San Juan....like others we did return for dinner on two separate occasions. Mofongo with creole sauce is awesome, mojitos are the best...There may be a wait (15-45min), but it is well worth it. Great food and service!

“Mike is a great host”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

What a great place to start your visit to OSJ. Eat the shrimp with garlic sauce -- it is incredible. We split it, it is very filling, but delicious. The mojitos are the best. And the service is very prompt. Met Mike, the owner, on my way to the ladies' room. He is a wealth of information on OSJ and just a nice guy. He spent 15 mintues giving me lots of tips and information on the city and then joined us at the table to give us even more information. He noticed our glasses were empty and went in and personally made us two mojitos on the house. Great people watching and the trolley stop is right in front. This is a don't miss!

“Tasty, cheap, nice staff: a recipe for success”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

Lovely restaurant! The location is convenient for all those fat, waddling, pale tourists with fanny-packs who disembark from the cruise ships, and althought it is not as atmospheric as some of the places further up the hill in old San Juan, the delightful staff and tasty food amply compensate. We had a super-fresh octopus salad, followed by a Puerto Rican speciality: mofongo with pork and criolla. This filling dish is a mound of mashed plantains topped with barbecued pork and a piquant garlic/mango/tomato sauce. Highly recommended. Nice beer list, and the boss man comped us some cocktails because our choice wasn't available.

“Great no-frills local joint”

Get the skirt steak or fish tacos, the mofongo, and either a medalla or a delicious homemade mojito. Good service and location for people watching too.
