Description: Since our beginning in 1972 we strived to provide the best products to our new clients as well as to those that visit us on a regular basis. Even those travelers that during their brief stay in Puerto Rico, step out of the airport and visit us just to have a taste of the wonderfull things that they have heard of “La España”. Our menu is one that holds and respects an enormous tradition. From our daily baked bread to our coffee served hot every time. From our sandwiches made with the best products to that pastry that melts in your mouth. From that exquisite seafood paella, to that our very traditional galician soup. Many recepies come from past genetations and others we have given a personal twist, this way offering a unique product to those that enjoy our delicious variety. Our passion for quality is what drives us. We are in a constant lookout for better ingredients and products so we can always guarantee our best to every customer.

Every time we visit San Juan, we have to go to a Spanish bakery. There are several in the city but Panaderia España is the most consistent overall. They serve traditional Spahish dishes such as Caldo Gallego (Galician Soup), Octopus Salad, Sardines, Callos a la Madrileña, etc. We also enjoy the Cuban Sandwich. They still make it as it is supposed to be and it is delicious. They also have an array of delicious pastries. Coffee is also good. It is totally worthy to try.

Have been there approximately 2 times this month and the consistency of food has not been there and I'm alergic to sea shell sea food and the put together items together in the same cooler and can't order some items due that because on same cooler the smell is transfer to that food and last time almost got sick and when you order a sandwich and ask a special way has not happen some time is because to busy or they don't recognize you but if you're a regular of 3 to 4 times a week then the story is different. I was used to go at least once a week that's why I have been there only 2 times this month and who knows next year. Happy Holidays

This huge Spanish style bakery has very good sandwiches, good coffee and a nice environment to sit and chat with friends and family or just read the papers. In addition to sandwiches and pastries, they serve lunch and you can order finger foods for parties.

Excellent place with quality food and pastries. The fabada asturiana was outstanding. Great staff and reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Take care when crossing the pedestrian overpassess at night: we encountered two drug addicts shooting up (the restaurant itself was full of police eating meals).
