As I checked into this small hotel, a woman waived the key cards at the clerk declaring her unhappiness and desire to check out--this was not what she expected. I suspect she hadn't done her homework, but also that this hotel is a matter of taste. It is minimalist, like an art gallery with no paintings: wood floors, white-washed walls, black and chrome accents. Tiny cacti in white porcelain dishes on black shelves. My room was spare and comfortable, even comforting in its lack of clutter. Light flowed in through the sheers--but no view, but ugly parking lots and buildings, and the open window over the shower suggested a lack of privacy. On the other hand, the key card lock felt so secure, I needed a lesson to use it. It was not as quiet as the decor would suggest, perhaps due to the lack of soft furnishings in public spaces. I could hear sheets rustling in the other room, plates stacked in the restaurant next door, street noise--but these were not loud noises.

Most important to note: NO ELEVATOR. Four flights of stairs with a heavy or multiple bags? The desk clerk called a housekeeper who carried the bag up for me, and I had to run after him to tip him.

The hotel could enhance the zen ambiance with a healthier breakfast --fresh fruit, yogurt? The coffee is good, but the rest is cellophane-packaged bagels, white bread and muffins. The patio, though, where breakfast is provided, is lovely n the morning. The wireless is free and works. There's a good sushi restaurant attached to the hotel. The beach and the Marriott Condado are two blocks away.

I would call this a chic, simple economy hotel very close to the beach, to the casinos, to restaurants, etc, in Condado. I was traveling alone, one night before a conference at the university, after a week's vacation on the other side of the island, and it fit my needs perfectly.

Stayed there at the beginning of my stay and ... came back for my last night, I think that says it all.

They don't have a restaurant ... but they provide a breakfast (cereals, toasts, bagels, muffins with coffee, fruit juice and milk) up to 9am and there are plenty of restaurant around the hotel.
They don't have phones in the rooms ... but they have excellent WI-FI access and they will let you use their phone + come and get you if you have a phone call (or take a message if you're not there).
They don't have swimming pool but ... condado beach is only a few minutes away.

The main drawback: it is on the street ... however it is not as noisy as I expected it to be.

Cherry on the cake?
The terrasse!!!
When I came back from these hols that what I missed the most ...

Very minimalist hotel at a very minimalist price. Light breakfast in the morning served outside on open terrace. Good coffee. No phones in room, no hair dryers in room, no elevators. I stay there at imes when in San Juan on business as I like this quiet no-hassles hotel. Would also be good for a couple seeking peace and quiet and access to Condado and nearby beach. Not good for a family. I like it.

The hotel is a cute, contemporary boutique hotel. Extremely minimalist, but serves the purpose for a night stay. The price is really incomparable too, considering most of the resorts in the Condado area of the city are double the price. You do however get what you pay for with loss of amenities.
Though my stay was fine, I wouldn't give the hotel 3 starts, considering no phones in room, no in-room safe, no closet and bare means of clothing storage, no bell service or luggage assistance (defiantly necessary when lugging a suitcase up 3 flights of stairs Also, the elevator is non-working. I would yield anyone needing wheelchair/physical assistance to look elsewhere as both the hotel and orbitz advertise a working unit. I will say however, for the price, the desk staff and service was probably the best I received on the island. Puerto Rico as a whole doesn't seem to be keen on top notch service.

The Aircon was working perfectly and the nearby beach was also great. Hotel is good value for money Breakfast is very very basic. Room decor felt a bit skimpy, but the rest was great.
