“Wyndham Condado is A, OK.”

We stayed at the Wyndham for 5 nights during Easter week. We got a cheap rate from Priceline. I was a little worried after reading some negative reviews. I must say that we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The room was spacious and faced the Atlantic. The workers were very friendly and helpful. The property was clean and beautiful. It's true that the beach is small but that is not Wyndham's fault. It is a public Condado beach. The pools were clean and nice. Even the casino was great! I don't understand why anyone would give this hotel a poor review. I would definitely return to the Wyndham Condado hotel and casino.

We stayed in this hotel after our cruise (04-04-04). It is close to the cruise ships and Old San Juan. A taxi fare is about $10.00 for 4 people to Old San Juan. The pools look just like the pictures shown and in great condition. This hotel was pleasantly nice and far better than what I thought or what I had read. The rooms were clean as was the bedding. They also double sheet the bed (top sheet, blanket, top sheet) which we usually request, and all were very clean. They have a great selection of places to eat, even for children. There is a wide variety of activities offered as well. The beach is actually a small inlet off of the ocean and is public. Again, this is good if you have children and don't want to worry about them in the surf, etc. Our son (11 yrs old) actually did a little snorkeling and enjoyed it. At the back of the hotel is a sea wall with the rocks in all. We ate breakfast outside on the patio with a beautiful view of the waves crashing into the rocks, palm trees, etc. It was very nice. They also have a casino which was very busy. The staff there are very pleasant and helpful. We had a situation where the bellman dropped a box of duty free liquor we had purchased on our cruise however besides being extremely apologetic, he and the manager drove all over town to replace the bottles that broke.
They really made every attempt to correct the situation. I would recommend this hotel especially to families. We would enjoyed our short stay and would definetly stay here again.

We stayed at the Condado for 4 nights, before going to Fajardo. The hotel room was pleasant, though a little dated. The room had 2 double beds, and huge walk-in closet. My daughter was sick for 2 days, and my son decided to sleep in the closet - and it was plenty big enough to do so. We had joined Wyndham By Request, so we were upgraded to an ocean-view room (beautiful view!) and given beer, water and cheese & crackers upon our arrival. The pools were beautiful, and not very crowded. No worry about getting a chair. Because I read the reviews here, I was not expecting much of a beach. The beach is small, but is actually nicer than I had anticipated. It is right next to the pool area, so you can go back and forth easily and without leaving the property. We did venture out into town to eat a few times, which I would recommend. Ropa Viejo was a nice restaurant with local flair. The mojitos here are the best we had on the islands. The ceviche was terrific too. Also, go the the restaurant next door El Wakkiki for breakfast. $5 for eggs, pancakes or huevos rancheros (with homemade guac & salsa!) and overlooks the ocean. The best meal we had here was at Ramiro's. It is pricey, but no more so than eating at the hotel. The food was FANTASTIC!! We are food/wine people, and are very picky. This restaurant was one of the best anywhere, and the service was terrific.
Definitely worth the trip! As for food at the hotel, stay away from Max's, except maybe for lunch. The spanish restaurant was pretty good, we sat next to the fish tank and the food was decent. As far as trips go, don't do the tour of Old San Juan. You are better off just taking a cab into the city (about $10) and walking around. Great little shops, good restaurants & night life. The fort is great, and huge! If you go on the tour they only give you 1/2 hour to see the fort, which is not nearly enough. Overall, we really enjoyed our time in San Juan and the Wyndham Condado was a good choice for us.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Condado Plaza. It sits at the entrance to the Condado area, so the beach that is there really should not even be mentioned, since it is public and small. To the hotel's credit, they really don't promote it and the concierge staff recommended better ones like Ocean Park and Isla Verde. So if you don't mind walking, cabbing, or driving a short distance, then there is no problem. Other than that, the hotel was fine. I find the constant crashing of the waves upon the rocks to be perpetual relaxation-but that's just me. The pool areas are good and the promenade area was roomy. Didn't eat there because hotel restaurants are not my thing and there are good places right near there like Ropa Vieja and Ramiro's. The area down at the Marriott has cool clubs like Moorings and it's a $10 cab ride to Old San Juan, which is terrific. Honestly, if being on the beach is the main thing, then try the Marriott or the hotels in Isla Verde. If not, the Wyndham is fine.

For $200 per night (non ocean front but oceanview web rate) this place was overpriced. The rooms were nice but ordinary and rather old. There is only access to a small pubic beach partially bordered by the road in and out of Dorado. And you can eat wonderful $6 breakfasts about a block away at two oceanoverlooking restaurants. Nice pool area however. The best thing about Puerto Rico is old san Juan. Great for photos.
