I have traveled all over the world and this is one of the best museums I have ever seen! There are only a few exhibits, but they are broken down by rooms with individual doors so there is no chance of getting lost. Each room / exhibit is staffed by local college students that are well versed in the subject matter of each area. The only disadvantage is that some of the plaquards are only written in Spanish. But the guides are bilingual, and even trilingual, and will give you detailed descriptions of everything in the museum. We went early in the morning and felt like we had a personal tour guide for each room. It was absolutely wonderful!

See the permanent exhibit of bronze-cast individual's from various countries in the America's....see the little film about it too! It's one of the most fascinating exhibits I've seen in my life! Cute gift shop too! Lovely staff and HUGE interior courtyard is quite a beautiful surprise. Please support Puerto Rico's Arts/Cultural GEMS! :)

We ended up spending a good part of the afternoon here. It's on the second level of a large building with a central courtyard. There are 5-7 different exhibits, each with a different slant. The one on tribes of the Americas is set up with sculptures of various tribal members in typical settings. It turns out the sculptures were made from life-casts. This is the life work of a Swiss artist. Don't miss the film that describes his mission and the process of creating these casts. This is just one of the exhibits- each was interesting in its own way. Some have English translations, and some don't.
