Owner description: A seaside cemetery where a number of notable Puerto Ricans rest.

I thought New Orleans had interesting cemeteries until I saw this one. With the back drop of the ocean on one side and the fort wall on the other it is a must see. Be careful not to journey away from the fort walls or the cemetery.

This cemetery is located next to the old San Juan castle. The grassy area above affords spectacular views with the Ocean combined with the views of Cristobal.

I love old cemeteries and this one did not disappoint. I took some really great pictures of some beautiful and haunting graves. If you enjoy sculpture, it's a good place to visit.

Very different than most cemeteries in the US. You can look over into it as you are walking through the lawn of the fort. Unlike anything you have ever seen, unless you've visited New Orleans. Stay away from La Perla, the town to the side of the cemetery outside of the walls of the city.

Great cemetary with lots of interesting statuaries. The ocean front location and the old fort turrets add a lot and make for many photo ops! I have heard of problems (drugs, hoodlums, etc) with the area but have never seen anything ourselves in our 5 visits. Just use the usual pre
cautions. The gates are locked around 3-4pm (we almost got locked inside once!)
