“Amazing Stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in February 2012 for 4 nights. My fiance is a Hilton Diamond member so we got an amazing upgrade to a high level ocean facing balcony room. The rooms were very big. The bed was extremely comfortable.

The highlight of each evening was happy hour at the hotel bar. The drinks were amazing!!!! The appetizers were so good! Our server was very friendly. She told us about the Caribbean side of the island and also the best places to visit in Old San Juan.

The private beach at this hotel was very relaxing. It wasnt crowded during our stay. We enjoyed the mini boardwalk around the beach side of the property. I had fun taking pictures of iguanas and little crabs on the rocks. If you walk out to the end of the pier, you can even see schools of fish swimming in the water. We wnt to the public beach and there was a huge difference in the upkeep.

On the last day of the trip, we awoke to catch the sunrise and my boyfriend proposed. So, needless to say, this hotel will always hold a very special plae in my heart.

Beautiful hotel! You love it right from the entrance with the decor and the flavored water they serve. We were there for 5 nights for our anniversary and we totally loved the place. It's close proximity to the Old San Juan and Condado makes it an ideal place for tourists.

The rooms are clean and spacious. We had a personal balcony which had a view of the ocean. The rooms are provided with a locker to keep your valuables. There is a mini fridge. The bathroom is very clean.

There are plenty of pools and jacuzzies for everyone to have fun. The design of the pools helps make them seem very private. It has a small private beach as well. There are a lot of activities for kids and adults. Staff is very friendly. The bar tenders make great drinks and the food served by the grill restaurant by the pool is simply amazing. There's at least a couple of breakfast options depending upon how much you want to spend.

All in all, we loved this place and would highly recommend to anyone going to San Juan, PR.

Room Tip: Tell them you're on a honeymoon and they will upgrade you to a nice room.

Thought I would be disappointed after reading some of the other reviews. Nice place, I would stay there again. Great deal through Priceline. Location wasn't bad. Very safe and secure area. I was in the older section of the hotel. The rooms appear to be recently renovated. Great ocean view. Food is very expensive compared to the near by places. Great beach area and nice bar.

Hi there! Thank you for your comments. We are glad to hear that you will return to visit us!

I understand the food and beverages prices was of concern, we feel our prices are very competitive compared to other resorts of our level in the San Juan area, yet appreciate your feedback.

I'm posting this review a bit late but wanted to quickly comment on my stay during a conference. I'm not sure what the rates for the other hotels are going for but the Hilton rates are reasonable, with the exception of the charges for maid services (?). It's located on a small man made beach, which is swimmable but not super clear. There are alot of loungers and there are good sized pools. Great place for families and the lounge is good for adults. I liked the proximity to Old San Juan, where you can venture for great meals. When taking taxi, make sure you haggle and negotiate the rate - they make them up and there are no meters. We turned away a taxi due to the higher rate and someone right behind was ready to take us to Old San Juan. The hotel has a Starbucks, which is awesome. The sinks in the hotel were clogged, despite requesting for them to be unclogged. The clogged sinks put me off. The water from the shower spills onto the surrounding floor and is a bit of a safety risk. We threw towels on the floor to help keep the area clean.
Overall, it was a decent hotel and the location was great.

My husband and I stayed at Caribe Hilton for our 10 year anniversary for six days. We arrived late late at night and the workers spoke pleasant english and were very kind. It was a little bit of a maze to find our room at first as some have said on here. We stayed in the Villas, which I recommend. You save LOADS of money if you purchase a few groceries at least for breakfast. The buffet is anywhere from $15-$22 at the hotel. You DO NOT get free breakfast. I thought our Expedia said we did, but we did not. Eventually it became very easy to get around. Also, we bought a "ocean front view" room, which was really towards a bridge and the city on the peninsula. Not towards the ocean, but it was still beautiful.

The beach is amazing! Very clean and beautiful. The pool area isn't as huge as it looks in the pictures, but there is definitely enough room for everyone. There's a beautiful area with loads of hammocks in the shade, a great place for a cat nap. The swim up bar is great too for a fun day in the sun! Keep the mojitos comin, they're amazing. But you're bill will rack up quite fast at $12.00 a mojito :) The hot tubs are amazing at night. Don't miss watching the stars in one! Those beds you see in all of their pictures aren't free. They're $75.00 an HOUR! Seemed crazy to me. There are plenty of free beds everywhere else that just don't have curtains. Don't miss checking out the barracudas at night at the feeding area. They are HUGE and amazing, especially when the tide rolls in.

The restaurants we went to at the resort weren't amazing. We visited the Pina Colada Club, which had okay food and drinks. But they did have a live band that were really good. If you want good food, check out Cafe Berlin for some Mofongo or Tijiuanas for some great mexican on the water downtown San Juan.

The hotel is by no means, brand new. If you're looking for that, check elsewhere. There are a couple rusted doors outside, and a crack in the concrete or so, but really it's a great place to stay. The location couldn't be better. Around the corner is a bus stop that will take you downtown San Juan for only $0.75 and takes two minutes. Beats a $12.00 taxi ride. We never took it home, but we always took it to the city. They told us not to take it at night.

All in all, my husband and I had a wonderful time here on our trip. It's right on the ocean, located close to downtown (we spend a lot of time in the city), they can set you up great with travel packages even a day before a trip if need be, amazing beach and lounge area, what more could you want?

Room Tip: The Villas were really quiet and a great way to eat for cheap!

This is a perfect location for visiting old San Juan and it's not far from the airport. The hotel was very nice and clean and loved the pools, the private beach and there are huge hammocks to relax in. The views are so soothing! My only complaint would be that the front desk needs to explain that each time you go to the pool or beach area you have to show this ID card and not your room key. This was not explained to us and the security person was not very pleasant about this.

We spent two nights here prior to our seven day Carnival Victory Cruise. The hotel was "comfortable", but a very "busy" environment. At our arrival we were met at the curb and our baggage was immediately taken care of. At check in we found the folks at the front desk to be somewhat "robotic" rather than welcoming. We found most of the staff to be helpful, but not very friendly or personable. I had requested a room with an ocean view, and I got it, but it also included the roofs of all the buildings in the area! The room was comfortable as well as the beds. Bathroom could use a good cleaning as it appear to be hit or miss. Other than the very expensive resturants in the hotel, dining establishments are few. Our first night we ate at a local resturant (sorry, don't remember the name) but it was located just a couple of doors down from Subway. Great local food, a small family type resturant. Good service. Excellent help with the Spanish menu. Obvious a favorite place for locals. Second night, out of frustration we ate at Subway. Hotel is located a good ways from Old San Juan. Taxi or bus required to get there. We opted for the bus. Required walking about 1/4 mile to the bus stop. It was $.50 to go to the bus terminial in Old San Juan. After arriving in Old San Juan, got the free trolley and toured the area and forts. Return was a taxi ride which we negotiated the price at $10.00 for two of us. The grounds at the hotel are beautiful, especially at night. Overall, I consider this hotel to be a bit pricey and more concerned with the masses, rather than individual customer service/attention. Probably would not stay there again if returning to San Juan.
