Very old by any standards with fascinating and well preserved fort from Spanish era. Attacked by, amongst many adversaries, Francis Drake!

Both forts are within walking distance of one another & totally worth the admission price. ($3 for one or $5 for both).

Lots of history here and it is beautifully restored. The movie in the main plaza of El Morro fort gives a lot of information if one isn't into reading placards.

Additionally trekking down to level 2 is worth it as well. You walk down a tunnel/ramp and can still see shrapnel embedded in the wall from the Spanish American war. Very cool!

Definitely worth a visit if you are in Old San Juan!

Beautiful views of San Juan. Displays provided valuable historical information. Visitors need to be able to walk moderate distances and climb steep stairs.

There is alot to look at, but they need to have more description of what your looking at. You can take the free trolly from one point to the other or you can walk it as we did and get to see the ocean side of Old San Juan (pretty run down). Check out the cemetary along the way. Worth the time.
