This is a must see attraction in old san juan. We took a free bus from San Cristobal fort to get here after parking our car in the Donal Fela parking facility. Restrooms are available in the fort and there are also several portable restrooms available behind the Museum near the entrance to the fort. I also saw water fountains but no food places inside the fort. You can get food nearby the museum on the street. Do pack some snacks as it could take a while to explore the area. The fort has some great views of the sea and islands that are ideal for pictures. Shops in the fort has collectible items that you can buy. Check them out.

Great forts good for history buffs and great for getting a feel for 1600-1800 fort design. Not for limited mobility vistors.

One of the reasons my wife and I chose Puerto Rico was because of all of the things to do close to our hotel. The first full day we spent in Puerto Rico we went to Old San Juan and made the fort a high priority.

The construction was amazing and we were surprised by all of the ramps versus stairs. We are guessing that is so cannons could be moved throughout the fort. The view from the top were spectacular and we were lucky because we had excellent weather.

I think it is important that this site should be on everyone's must see list.

Lots of walking and reading displays, but extremely historical and worth the time. Don't forget you camera and comfortable shoes. Give yourself at least half a day.

We got on a hop on hop off free trolley and rode to this site. Full of history, took our own tour with no problems. Wouldn't pay for site seeing tour, you can walk or visit on your own.
