“Peaceful Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2012

Absolutely loved my day at Palomino. It was my one day on the beach while in PR. It is beautiful; however don't expect any waves in the ocean. It is extremely shallow, not your typical beach. Take a stroll and grab a chair a few minutes away from the ferry under a tree and enjoy the scenery.

“Great island, unimpressive restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2012

We spent 3 days over on Palomino Island. Overall, we really enjoyed the island experience. We arrived by 10 am each day, and always were able to find lounge chairs in the shade on the far side of the island (away from the bars and restaurants). These were very relaxing, and we could snorkel right off shore there. The staff at the water sports area were excellent, setting up some fun jetski and banana boat outings. They also gave some great pointers on places to swim. The volleyball and soccer were a big hit for the kids when they wanted to get off the beach.
The big downside for us was the restaurant; not only was it overpriced (close to $5 for a bottle of water), but on calm days, it was covered in flies. The last day our food was covered in flies minutes after it arrived, and we left without eating.

“Was not impressed!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2012

Being in other private islands, Bahamas, Mexico. The Island has only two bars, a restaurant full of flies, most of the beaches has rocks and the portables bathroom are disgusting. Stay at the Conquistador, don't leave the mainland unless you are going to Vieques.

“Best place in PR to simply relax!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

This island is associated with the El Conquistador resort so you have to stay at the resort to use the island or rent a boat to get out to it. Great place to totally unwind!

“Beautiful private island for El Conquistador”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

Short boat ride to Palomino Island from the El Conquistador resort. Once there, you have so many options to choose from. Relax on chaise lounges in the sun or under umbrellas. Go horseback riding or play volleyball. You can eat and have drinks at Iguanas and play Chess with giant chess pieces. Everywhere you walk you will see giant iguanas in the bushes, in the bar and just wandering around....
