I Loved this! Not many people review this-why?? I returned a second day just to find it as I loved the story i heard about at art school years ago; The Art it's self is inspiring, very interesting & stylized & defiantly worth walking just a few more steps up from inside the old last gate entrance. For Legend in full (see vabchtraveler review)
Short version; on April 30 1797 the British were attacking the City, the men were away fighting elsewhere, so the women banded together with there Bishop leading a torch light procession throughout the night & ringing bells through the old city praying for there deliverance; by morning the British thinking reinforcements had arrived had fled.

One of the best little corners of the old city, do not miss it. Take your camera. The Bay, La Fortaleza, Casa Blanca and Casa Rosado, San Juan Gate all right for your viewing pleasure.

La rogativa is place on an open space that has one of the most important Photographic spot. You can watch the Bahía of San Juan, has the Santa Catalina Palace, the great Muralla of San Juan. A beautiful view of San Juan and Isla de Cabras... At the sunset is a priceless picture...

A statue by Lindsay Daen gifted to San Juan by the Jewish community which has been taken to the hearts of the Puertorican people as a classic image of Old San Juan because of its historical importance.
