This is the smaller of the two forts in Old San Juan, but don't miss it! I believe the views are much, much better. You must go!

Really Well maintained, very clean and helpful people working. its full of history with the descriptions on every room explaining the history of it, the shop in the middle of the castle its a great idea we were there when it was a little hot so we could get refreshment right there.

This old Spanish fort is loaded with history, and intrigue. Excellent views of the old city and the new city, as well as the ocean. The small admission fee is worth the experience.

Well worth the $3 to visit if you love history. Our favorite parts were the wall paintings in the dungeon and the beautiful views of the ocean. Make sure you see the whole fort. We went to one section (turn left after coming out of the tunnel with the dungeon and cross the parking area) with absolutely no one else there. It had the best views of the ocean and an interesting part of the forts tunnel system.

I found the roads in the San Juan area to be very confusing, and had difficulty finding the site in a rental car. However, it was worth the effort. Driving through the rest of Old San Juan is a nightmare, and to try to find parking, even in the non-tourists season is a challenge.
