Well worth the $3 to visit if you love history. Our favorite parts were the wall paintings in the dungeon and the beautiful views of the ocean. Make sure you see the whole fort. We went to one section (turn left after coming out of the tunnel with the dungeon and cross the parking area) with absolutely no one else there. It had the best views of the ocean and an interesting part of the forts tunnel system.

I found the roads in the San Juan area to be very confusing, and had difficulty finding the site in a rental car. However, it was worth the effort. Driving through the rest of Old San Juan is a nightmare, and to try to find parking, even in the non-tourists season is a challenge.

i liked this fort better than el morro i think because its so much bigger. i came here twice because i didnt get to see everything the first time. the view is amazing. and the dungeon is super spooky! to think someone was locked in there for 22 years!!

Enjoyed the history of this US National Park and the $3 enterance fee is a bargain along with the free trolley ride that drop you ride at the enterance of the fort.

We enjoyed touring this fort and appreciated the stunning views! This is a must see along with El Morro. Also seemed to be less crowded than El Morro.
