“Would not want to be stationed here in the old days”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

What a fortification. Tunnels and ramparts. Stay for the Ranger orientation. To think it took 250 years to build and was relevant for not much at all once technology passed it by

“An amazing glimpse into the past”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

On a recent trip to Old San Juan, we visited both of the city's old forts - Castillo de San Cristobal and El Morro. Both were fantastic; a true look into the city's Spanish colonial past. San Cristobal is a bit smaller than El Morro, so we were able to see every bit of it in a reasonable amount of time. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting each of these historic sites, but would recommend San Cristobal if your time is limited.

“Absolutely Amazing”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

The size of this fort was amazing. We walked through it and it was explained to us how it took so long to build that there are different styles of towers. Also, the view from the top is unbelievable and was my favorite part of the trip. We then walked around Old San Juan afterwards. We really liked it.

“Worth the visit.”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

Buy the Combo Admission that includes El Morro. Take the free shuttle between the two Castles. Otherwise, it's a fairly long, warm walk.
