IF you like history, this may interest you. The old traditions are visible here and you can follow ancient footsteps to the cathedral.

To see this old city gate the best way you walk along the water on a sidewalk below the old city walls. It's an interesting history lesson with this gate. Apparently in colonial times the only way to enter San Juan was through this gate and the only way to this gate was by the bay outside the walls.

This is the historical wall that connects the Castillo San Cristobal to the El Morro. You can drive by it on the bus. Amazing view of the Atlantic and the San Juan Area.

Just imagine traveling to San Juan and missing this site!? We arrived by cruise boat and walked along the water to the Princesa Promenade until we arrived at the San Juan Gate. What amazing history of the gate to old San Juan!

The San Juan Gate and the city wall are a must see during your walking tour of Old San Juan. Do pick up a map or guidebook of Old San Juan from the Puerto Rico Tourism Company office. There are lots of benches under the shade to rest. You can also spot Iguanas on the rocks.
